Hi. I would like to capture audio from a Hi8 camcorder. I have the new Creative Audigy X-Gamer sound card. What kind of software do I need in order to capture audio from the camcorder? Also, I'm not doing some short clips. I want to capture like a 2 hour conversation. Help!

If you're running Windows, it has a built-in program "Sound Recorder". You will find it in Accessories.
But a 2-hour .wav file is going to be HUGE!!
Why not simply use a tape recorder or a VCR tape?

This is a program that I used in the past to copy cassette tapes into the Windows WAV files. Its pretty good program, and the new version will , I think, allow you to save your audio into mp3 files. Just hook up your audio from your camcorder into your sound card. It works great for transferring from cassette tapes to computer.

Link to Polderbits program.
