How to cancel a call with nexus 4?

I noticed it's very easy to accidentally call someone with the nexus 4 because simply touching the wrong part of a contact when trying to edit will initiate the call. In some cases it just starts to call with no warning and no way to cancel. If you try going to home screen then you're really done for since the call STILL continues! Is there a way to stop it in that instance? It just happened now, thankfully it was just my house...

Sucks when I'm editing contacts in middle of night and it happens and it wakes somebody up... Even a simple warning like "you are about to call xyz, proceed?" would be nice... Is there an app for that? :awe:
 
Installing an app seems like an overkill. How about editing them on a PC and copy/paste? Or sync via your Google account?

How would I do that? Would definitely make it easier. As long as I stay out of the contacts section unless I plan to make a call I should be able to hopefully eliminate the accidental calls.
 
I'm not on AOSP but isn't there a giant end call button on the screen when it is calling? Going to the home screen doesn't end a call because of multitasking but there should be a button for it on the call screen.
 
In Windows, go to your name (personal folders) -> Contacts. From there you are able to edit contacts. Window's default save format is .contact which Android doesn't recognize, so export it as vCard (.vcf) format. Export it somewhere else on the disk and you can copy it over to Android.

This. There is a giant red end call button when you call someone...
