hi,

my mx700 (part of a duo) has a problem w/ calibration. The pointer would slowly move towards right accross the screen. This is very annoying when trying to navigate some menus or when watching a movie for instance. someone on the forums has mentioned that it's easy to do and I also figured that it would be as easy as calibrating a joystik or something but after looking through MouseWare 9.79.1 and searching google i can't come up w/ anything. Besides, a week after I installed mouseware, i boot my pc and the soft from out of nowhere recognizes my mouse as some cheap logitech mice version. I had to uninstall the mouseware (which did reduce the calibration problem a bit) to return the mx mice back to life - what a pain their soft is! itouch would crash on me at least once a week or two. i'm in windows XP w/ athlon 1700.

any help would be greatly appreciated,
-igor

this problem (mouse stationary but pointer is moving around) seems to arise with certain surfaces. i found that when i'm using the mice on just my desk, which has black smooth surface the pointer would move around without me doing anything. same or worse happens with very fine surfaces like poster paper etc. using a plain a4 paper solves the problem for me.
i just read an article on some mouse pad and reviewer had the same problem testing the mx700 with certain mousepads http://www.gurureview.co.uk/content/view/175/25/1/1/ . the reviewer called the company that makes them and they said that their mx700 worked fine implying that certain makes of mx700 have that kind of glitch.

it's crappy that one can't use his/her desk surface with an optical mice when the hype was that they work well on everything except glass or some such surface

hope this helps anyone having the same problem
