How to burn subtitle .srt files into DVD?

I have a few DVDs without subtitles that I'd like to modify - that is burn downloaded subtitle files into them. For example, the Merchant of Venice with Al Pacino (not to sound like an idiot but Shakespeare without subtitles can be a bit taxing) is a dvd someone gave me, which I ripped to my hard drive using DVDFab Decryptor.

I downloaded the subtitles which are .srt files.
I really hate installing unnecessary software on my machine and have the feeling that I can do this since I have the full K-lite Codec Pack which includes ffdshow video decoder and DirectVobSub. The question is how?
Or if there is another app that makes this easy, I'll definitely give it a try...
Any help would be greatly appreciated -- thanks in advance!!

you just need to use subrip w/ a dvd authoring program that supports .srt files. Check out doom9's guides for the how-to.

DVD-Lab does this beautifully. I know it, because I've added subs to several DVDs so far.
