I'm tired of mice scratching around my room waking me up at night and eating food out of the cupboards. We've killed enough deer mice and I'm tired of watching their cute little heads mashed in by the trap. One of them got his abdomen crushed and stayed alive until my friend severed his head with a snow shovel.
Anyone know where I can find schematics for a device that will emit a high frequency sound to repel them?

Edit: Deer mouse
Awww isn't he cute?

Tell your landlord to get rid of the mice, or you're bringing in a cat.

I believe rodent infestation is also solid grounds for breaking a lease.

Well in this case the landlord is the federal government and the housing is free since I'm an intern. The mice are the residents' responsibility, and I'm the only one now. They supply us with lots of traps, but like I said I don't want to kill them. There's one no kill trap but I don't think it works.

Hmm a veteran I worked for said that in Vietnam they had something made out of a bucket with a spinning thing on top that dropped the mice into the bucket. It was called a wheel of doom or something. Maybe I should build one of those and throw all the mice outside. Anyone know about that? I couldn't find anything on google.

Edit: Searched for "bucket mouse trap" and found this http://asktrapperjohn.com/topics/bucketmouse.htm

Still, a repeller would be sweet.

I've lived in many places that claimed "no pets" and had a cat. Do you think you'd be caught if you had a cat?

Buy and plug in one or more electronic sonic beepers in each room, set specifically for the hearing range of rodents. They may enter the area, but will not wish to stay long because the beeps irritate their nervous systems and disrupt their nesting plans.

Those things are too expensive.

Lowe's should have them for $10-15. Not terrible.

What side of town are you on? I have one i could loan you, but it's a commercial type, and is kind of loud.

cats not much good against mice in walls. i mean if you have wide open structures like a barn or something it might work, but a modern home? not somuch
