I just picked up the Asus A7N8X deluxe, I wiped out windows XP prior to putting together this new setup. I bought 2 High Point PATA -> SATA adapters and Now I can't access the hard drive because it doesn't recognize the SATA Controller without any drivers. On my last mobo with a raid controller It gave me a floppy diskette that let me setup my Raid Controller then install my OS. Am I just going to have to install my HDD to the Regular IDE channel then install Windows XP then install the SATA Drivers then reconnect the SATA Adapter? Any help would be appreciated.

TIA

Get the drivers here Here

Put them on a floppy
When installing XP it will ask you to press "F6" to install third party drivers. Press F6 and have XP aquire the drivers from the floppy. It will now see your RAID drives for install.

Enjoy!

*Edit*
If they are zipped... make sure to unzip them first before putting them on the floppy ;)

I'm not sure. My MSI NForce2 board uses a Promise SATA-RAID controller and the drivers on on MSI's site.

The proper drivers for the Silicon image controller ARE on the ASUS web site. Select the A7n8x Deluxe from the list on the left side and go to downloads. Click on XP; and you will see a list for the Silicon Image Driver and 3 com driver etc.
download the zip; then unzip and put the Si3112r.inf & .sys & .mpd & .vxd on the floppy and at the F6 prompt load them.

DON'T use the MSI Promise drivers !!!!

Good luck.
