How to become my OLD identity????

Ok, I will try to keep this short and NON-confusing. I was adopted with let's say the name "Judy", my adopted parents changed my name to let's say "Ann".
With the now name, "Ann", at age 45, I want to go back to "Judy"... BUT!

Judy is from Canada, and has NO US paperwork. How can I start over with Judy in the US?

Ya, but the name "Judy" isnt a US citizen.... how do I make her one? In other words, I want a new SSN and be a US citizen with the Judy name...

Change your name in Canada, then hit up the Embassy to update your passport and green card.

Sounds to me like we have an illegal immigrant trying to sneak a way to become legal...maybe a terrerest....:colbert:

You can only change your name. You might be able to get a new SSN if you can show you have been a victim of identity theft or other extraordinary circumstances.

NO, Im a US citizen by naturalization. I was adopted in canada and brought to the US, you guys are rediculous.

Change your name back to whatever it was before, and you're done. Citizenship and all that other shit will follow you when you change your name, as long as you go through the legal process

Simple, move in Canada, and escape the trainwreck of the US healthcare system while you can. :biggrin:

On serious note, you could move to Canada just to get that process done, then move back to the US. Would be a pain in the butt though, and I'm not sure if there would be any waiting periods in between.

So you want to be 2 people? Do you have split personalities?

Your question was answered in the very first response.

Changing your SSN has nothing to do with changing your name. As was already mentioned, you will have to prove identity fraud, or if you've lead a life of crime, or have first hand knowledge of serious criminal/mafia activity, you can always rat and request witness protection. 😀

If you were legally adopted as a minor, I believe the you are already a U.S. citizen. The Child Citizenship Act of 2000 states:

A. General Requirements: Biological, Legitimated, or Adopted Child Automatically Acquiring Citizenship after Birth

  • A child born outside of the United States automatically becomes a U.S. citizen when all of the following conditions have been met on or after February 27, 2001:
  • The child has at least one parent, including an adoptive parent[3] If the requirements of INA 101(b)(1)(E), or INA 101(b)(1)(F), or INA 101(b)(1)(G) are met. who is a U.S. citizen by birth or through naturalization;

  • The child has at least one parent, including an adoptive parent[3] If the requirements of INA 101(b)(1)(E), or INA 101(b)(1)(F), or INA 101(b)(1)(G) are met. who is a U.S. citizen by birth or through naturalization;

  • The child is under 18 years of age;

  • The child is an LPR (Legal Permanent Resident); and

  • The child is residing in the United States in the legal and physical custody of the U.S. citizen parent.

Check with an adoption attorney or other professional reference to be sure. 🙂

There IS NO duality of identities. Judy is now Ann and, Ann is a US citizen. Judy who previously was a Canadian citizen does not exist. If you want to be a US citizen who's name is Judy, change your name. If you want to be a Canadian citizen with the name Judy, apply for immigration and change your name in Canada. If you want a new ssn, you're either going to have to prove you need one (witness protection or asylum) or, you have coerce /bribe the right official.

I think you are mistaken. 8 month old Judy exists, and has existed for the last 45 years. It's a loophole that allows you to live for eternity if you keep changing identities. This is what the OP is trying to figure out

Why didn't she say so? My goodness, I have a limited number of vials of the elixir of life available now! Paypal me $19.95 and your troubles are over.

So... Conservatives are *right* for opposing abortion, since the superior option is to kill it after getting an SSN?!?!?! 😵 D: :hmm:

...or do you eat it first!?!?
