I cant say I dont blame them for doing this full time, but its a lot of work. I have one ad supported vid with about 15k views from January 2010 that has made a laughable $8.50 in revenue (you need $10 before you get paid). I have made other vids but none have garnered the same attention. So I know this is not that easy unless you have the talent, budget and NO SHAME.

Ironically I dont watch or subscribe to any of the above as I find most of them to be very annoying.

I watch shaycarl, but how do they get this money? What about taxes?

They are paid directly by google. When I was approached to be ad supported and signed up I agreed that I would supply a social security number for tax purposes once my revenue reached $10.

Good for them. They're creating a product that people like, and getting paid a decent amount of money for it.

I always wonder if vids posted there that get a ton of hits just because of the title but are a complete joke generate revenue for the poster, here's an example, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_Of-aqKO2s "horrible coaster accident" turns out to be some lame girl crying on a coaster for a few minutes but because of the title has over 7 million hits, maybe they should bring back the stars rating system after all..

Ive found the best way to get views is to be a bit controversial. But at least your vids are all now +1 view.

I don't really like Shane Dawson's videos, but they certainly have some appeal to them. He clearly puts effort into his videos, so good for him. He makes entire skits where he is every character, and there's something amusing about that.

Annoying orange makes me so angry that I want to kill people, but I can at least understand the appeal. Annoying orange is something typical office retards would forward to each other a million times. The creators of this deserve the money.

Fred sucks. Anyone who subscribes to him is a retard. This is a fact.

I like TYT. It's a typical news show with a more light hearted approach. Cenk is the one of the few liberals who attacks almost every stupid policy Obama tries to push. This is how objective news works - bash the hell out of politicians when they do stupid shit, regardless of which political party they are part of.

The Annoying Orange is the only one I'm familiar with, and I've only seen a handful, if that. I disable all ads on Youtube, even those annoying ads that pop-up during the videos, so they aren't making anything from me.

I don't watch shaycarl for his skit videos, I watch for his vlog's with his family because they are entertaining some of the time so he doesn't need talent

I don't watch any of these except for shaycarl and Natalie Tran (community channel). Both over a year now. Shay tries too hard sometimes (the scripted stuff he does is not great), but it's a great vlog that exposes you to family life and raising kids and all that.

And Community Channel is fucking awesome. She's witty and funny.

If it wasn't for my ex-girlfriend making these poor excuses for comedy her life's obsession I would be proud of not having heard of any of them.

None of them are interesting. At all. There's talent on youtube, not much admittedly, but it certainly isn't here.
