also, apparently tenants have the legal power to set their landlord's house on fire. This story was very interesting...as much as I want to quickly come to the conclusion that this "Newton" guy is abusing the system, I do enjoy the fact that at least this is a concrete example of tenants being able to take their landlords to court and win. At least this shows there are avenues in which (in Newark) tenants have the legal power to get suitable housing.
If the legal loopholes exist, is the guy "really" in the wrong to use the holes?
Wow, I hope this asshole and his whole family DIAF.
How does his wife commit arson and only get criminal mischief?
In this case, yes he is wrong to use those holes, as it violates the spirit of the laws. Plus, he's breaking the apartments and then using uninhabitability as an excuse.
So why can't he pass the BAR and represent other people therefore making a real living instead of leeching off the NJ court system?
in fairness, at least it's not Camden. You know what they say about ghetto people? Newark NJ is as ghetto as they come...

Hardly, Trenton and Camden are at least 10 times worse and thats just within New Jersey.

Is the guy wrong for what he is doing? Yes, I think he is.
Is the state laws and our legal system wrong for allowing such abuses? Yes, I think they are.
The issue here is not the guy working his way through the system, its the fault of the system for allowing him to do so.
