Are there cards out there that will allow me to plug in three or four monitors? Or... how can I accomplish this?

woooh! another great post by the YAKKO

the cheapest way is to add in more PCI cards if you have the slots.. maybe a dualhead g400 along with one or two more pci cards..

at least this time... yakko's post wasn't incredibly long and return-less. :)

If I were to use multiple PCI cards... would that extend the desktop across all 3 or 4 monitors? Or would I have seperate desktops on each?

You could use two Matrox DH cards; one AGP, one PCI.

Using 1 AGP card and 2 or 3 PCI cards will give you separate desktops on each card, but you can drag windows from desktop to desktop. Using a G400 MAX will give you one desktop stretched across two screens, so your toolbar at the bottom will stretch across two screens.

What type of application are you using this for? Internet video conferencing perhaps?

Some daytraders want to be able to run multiple full screen graphs at the same time.

they're like information gluttons... the more media input they can have at the same time the better

What is so great about it? It is kind of pointless and doesn't really answer the question asked in the manner the original poster wanted.

I run a 3-monitor configuration on a Matrox G450DH and an ATi RageII 4MB PCI card. When Parhelia comes out, I'll be replacing both cards with it. One card to rule them all. :D

I suggest the Matrox G200 MMS solution, then. Look at Amish's post above.
