i like arby's. too bad they dont have many locations

The company that owns the most Arby's (RTM Inc.) owns over 900 restaurants nationwide. There are thousands more Arby's across the country that are owned by other companies or independently-owned. Not many? Not hardly.

Arby's was good before -- but, their service and quality of food varied greatly by location. For example, we had a location where we could get their fries and they would cook them in 100% peanut oil. Granted, this was about 13 years ago - but you could find some decent Arby's locations.

However, I will agree with you now that they have "standardized" their services and you can pretty much get consistant food offerings from any of their locations.

Everyone at Arby's wants to thank you for visiting us when you're hungry for the good things. You see, everything we serve is prepared with those special little touches, giving our food the incredible flavor you just can't find anywhere else. It's what we believe in... and what you deserve.

guess i put it the wrong way. what i really meant was that it's not as available as say mcd. i wouldn't go out of my way just to eat there.

I would always get their Chicken strips and curly fries...Yum Yum. I think I'll step up and try on of their sandwiches. Thanks for the idea, Skoorb 😉

Yeah what's with Arby's and Hardees (Carl's Jr.) moving upmarket??? The new Hardees ads are all bout "no more cheap beef" and "you gotta pay more to get more".

edit: lol, even with the move upmarket I just noticed our local Arby's is still doing the 5 RB sandwiches for $5.

All the ones near me have the 5 for 5.95 occasionally. I have not been around a 5 for 5 Arby's in years.

I'd probably eat the more frequently if they had the 5 for 5's

Curly fries are the shiznit though

My friend works at arbys and their food is pretty great. However, it's incredibly expensive so I only eat there when my friend gets me stuff for half-off. good deal then! 😀

I like the Philly Cheese Supreme(or whatever it's called). Replace the swiss with cheddar, and you've got one great sandwich.

I worked at Arby's for several years. I can attest that the quality of Arby's can change DRAMATICALLY from store to store. It all depends on the owner and the management. A microwaved McDonald's hamburger is just as tasty/untasty as a microwaved McDonald's hamburger at any other restaurant. There is just so much standardized at those restaurants so many things taste pretty much the same. But at Arby's much of the food prep is still hand done. One of the biggest effects is the thickness of the meat slices. A sandwich with very thin slice of meat tastes great, but takes longer to prepare. The same sandwich with meat slices twice as thick is much quicker to prepare but the texture and taste are quite different. Does the manager want quality food or fast service? As another example, the time that Arby's food sits out will vary dramatically from restaurant to restaurant. It isn't like McDonald's where the food flies off the shelf so quickly that there isn't much time for it to get old. No during the day, like from 2 pm to 4 pm, there may be a period of 30 minutes without a customer at some Arby's restaurants. So what does the Arby's do with the chicken fingers, what do they do with the fish patties, etc? Some will keep them under hot lights, some will toss them and cook it fresh when customers finally come in.

Moral: if you don't like one Arby's, find another one and the same item may taste much better there.

Not enough is more like it...no Arby's in Manhattan. 🙁

And what is up with all the people on this board who worked/work for Arby's? There sure are a lot!

Heh, I never order any of the roast beef sandwiches. Their chicken sandwiches are just better. The curly fries rock too.

Arby's is very good for fast food, but overpriced IMO.

For fast food, I expect to get a complete lunch (sandwich, fries, drink for example) for $5 or less. Otherwise, if I have to spend more, there are plenty of little mom-n-pop specialty lunch restaurants (Asian, deli sandwich, etc.) that I would rather go to.

News flash for you. McDonalds use the made-for-you system.
They make all the burgers to fill but some stores do pre-make certain sandwichs during busy hours.
Mcdonalds haven't used to bin-holding food system for 4, 5 yrs.
And no, McDonalds doesn't microwave their burgers either.

Always have loved Arby's...it used to be a good dollar more expensive than McDs or something, so it was a treat for my sis and I when the family went to Arby's (we weren't as well off back then)

The 5 for $5 ruled...they never have 5 for exactly $5 anymore, unless it's the cheddar melt or something. bah.

Mmmmm.....Beef 'n' Cheddar.....mmmmmmmmmmm.........

Now if there was only an Arby's closer than an hour's drive away 🙁

There was a time when I wouldn't eat anything from Arby's if I was starving to death and paid a brick of gold per gram of Arby's food (and allowed to spit it out before swallowing), but alas it's nearing the top of my list for favorite fast food. At least one of the local restaurants here has the nicest dining area of any fast food joint. And the curly fries are awesome. Their turkey club sandwhich is quite stellar and the chicken deluxe sandwhich is pleasing as well. Yum, yum!

yeah Arby's is great.

But the only one here in town is expensive. i love the hot ham and cheese but its $3 for each one. while the one about 40 miles away has it for $2.

Their sandwiches & fries taste pretty good, but all their roast beef comes in these mushy plastic sacks before they cook them. Doesn't look too appetizing then 😛
