How the iPhone should have been designed?

Nah, adding a slide out keyboard adds to the size of the phone, i like the iPhone slim and trim.

i like the fact the iphone has no physical keyboard. it's part of it's greater appeal. something about touching the screen just makes using it so nice.

If they were to implement some form of haptics in it, it might help. The Dell XPS 1 all-in-one desktop has that, as does the LG Chocolate, I sort of wish my Gateway FHD2400 (well, when I get it again 🙂) had it as well. The touch controls are sexy and all, and actually preferable so i don't misalign the monitor just by switching inputs, but some feedback would be nifty.

I respectfully disagree. The fact that it doesn't have a keyboard is why I love it. I have fairly large hands and you know what they say about large hands....its impossible to type on a small keyboard. The iPhone in landscape mode is perfect for me to type on. In fact I am doing it now.

False, love the keyboard. I'm typing on one as well. The less amount of mving parts, the better.

if they can keep the size of the current phone and add a sliding keyboard, i'd more seriously consider dropping verizon. I've played w/ an ipod touch. i t's nice, but even after hours of use, I greatly prefer the keyboard. I could overlook this fact if flash worked.
