Yes I am impatient.

Been playing roughly 23 hours now and Im on the 4th rank.. the unlocked weapons are FAR superior than the default ones....I've found my killing touch with the G3 Assault Weapon (finally a gun that kills in 2-3 shots!) and the L8A1 Medic Rifle is pretty good....BF2 is more realistic than any other game I've played but I'm getting used to it....all about camping and shooting.....

And since I can't fly air vehicles for crap, I'll just focus on upping my rank on Infantry Only servers.....I'll get the air badges when I need 'em lol......

I hate the fact that the guns have no stopping power. Do you guys usually zoom in with the pistols? I just started playing this game. Mostly a pistols only server so I can unlock stuff.

I'm alright with no stopping power. I think you should play some CS(S) if you want stopping power. And yes, I do zoom in with the pistol. After I hit someone with a sniper rifle bullet, I switch to the pistol and zoom in to pick them off. Works wonders!

I hate it when you spray someone up close (and hit them 3-4 times) but they don't die...instead, they just prone, shoot you twice and you die......

Do you need 5 pistol kills IAR (in a round) to get the Pistol Basic Combat Badge? Is that what IAR means? Does it mean 5 pistol kills without dying or just in one map rotation?

Yes, yes, in one map rotation.


The basic pistol one isn't too too hard to get, but I have yet to get either basic pistol or knife. Knifing is lame as hell anyway. You can find pistol and knife only servers, which help in getting those badges, plus I guess you can rack up a lot of kills in general on those.

When you shoot, always aim from the tip of your sights. It took me a while to get the hang of it, but my advice is to start with the assault kits. Special Forces doesn't have armor. Once you master the AK and the M4A1, you'll be ready to learn how the other guns work. Just remember, the M4A1 shoots in bursts of 3, so be ready to click a few times to take out someone if your bullets are landing in a spray.
