How the hell do i get a p3 heatsink off?

I have an old p3 lying around but cant detatch it from this plastic thing that connects it to the mobo along with a big aluminum heatsink. No fans or anything jsut the heatsink. ANyone know how the hell to get this thing off?

Is this the factory HS/F?
If it is you'll need a case screw and a screw driver.
Take the case screw and put it on the table. Line up one of the holes on the backside fo the heatsink (there should be 4) with the screw you put on the table and push down onto the screw. Then use the screw driver to take the screw out of the hole. Repeat this 3 more times. Hope this made sense.

If it has a smaller metal plate behind it just turn the plate so that it release the 4 metal stands it is holding down.

I assume you mean the slot processor. Don't let the pins fool you, you can't slide the fan off of the heatsink. You have to actually pull it directly off (in the direction of the pins). You'll know you're doing it correctly because once you're angling the pressure correctly, there's relatively little resistance.
