I think the 50% figure refers to clinically obese which is generally a pretty low figure. Many people with large builds (yeah big boned :)) can fall into this category and they arent really that fat, they just happen to weigh a lot and have a more muscle mass than average. For example, Mark McGwire would fall into this category.

And of course me, I am 5-8 @ 210lbs and all my pants are a 34-36 waist, so while I could stand to lose a few pounds, I do not consider myself obese, although my doctor tells me that I am clinically obese.

Actualy, it's true. The US produces enough food to feed every man, woman and child 3000 calories per day. An average of 3000 calories per day will make some of us too fat.

i am an asian male. i am 5'11&quot; 165 pounds, and i feel skinny . but at least i am concious of my health. i gave up soda, and i actually make sure i dont eat just total crap all the time. if everyone did this we'd have a far fitter country

hans, actually tats my ideal weight. i'm bout the same height. if u feel skinny, its time u work out :) tats about the average weight for tat height.
