Republicans have spent much of Obama’s presidency blaming him for a weak, job-killing economy. So what happens to the GOP playbook when those jobs come back?

Well, on these forums, those numbers are wrong,.. because, well, go find out for yourself why they are wrong.

:colbert:

Anyway,...
The economy has already added back all the jobs that the financial crisis destroyed. In 2015, the positive momentum is expected to continue: unemployment will continue to fall, GDP growth will be faster, and wage gains might finally start to pick up. Cratering oil prices are more likely to help us than hurt us, at least for the time being. Consumer confidence is now at the highest level since 2008—and President Obama’s approval ratings are finally above water for the first time since September 2013.

For years, House Speaker John Boehner had the same take on the monthly employment report: “Where are the jobs?” Then November’s blockbuster jobs report finally prompted a different kind of response. “While it’s welcome news that more people found work last month, wages remain stubbornly flat while costs continue to rise, squeezing middle class families and putting the American Dream further out of reach,” Boehner said.

Ah, yes,... more jobs, but they suck, so there is nothing to celebrate.
What will be Republicans’ proposed solution?

,....

BWA-HAHA-HAH-HAH-HAHAHAHA!!!!!!

Ahem, excuse me. Nonetheless, they are in charge now. So,..
Republicans will need to make the case that, yes, progress has been made, “but they could be so much better if more Republican ideas were taken onboard,” said Mair. But, she added, the only way for Republicans to make a credible critique of the economy is if they actually flesh out and move forward with concrete policies that will help ordinary Americans.
You mean, offering a better alternative?

,....

BWA-HAHA-HAH-HAH-HAHAHAHA!!!!!!

It's a funny thing, the economy.

First, it is ruled by Government, and is no longer free (to the extent that Government can control free men.)
Second, the Government spends at leisure, and there really is no economics.
Third, there is an upcoming Presidential Election, where it would be nice for the incumbent Government, to renew.

What's funny, is that we are all going to suffer/are suffering.

I wish people could understand that the economy is based on much more than the man sitting in office.

In todays world, the economy does to a great extent revolve around the "man in office," or Government. It's failures or successes can be attributed to Government.

We no longer have any semblance of free markets.

It's always going to be some dumb reason from the GOP why economy is no good while a Democrat is president. Then if a Republican becomes president, it's all of the sudden the best economy ever.

The GOP complaining about stagnant wages is comical. Where are the workers wages? In your campaign coffers, senator.

Gosh, that sounds just like...politics.

For what? Raising the debt to over 18 Triilion?

Or low gas prices?

For socializing medicine?

And abolishing free markets?

According to various posters Obama variously...

"Raised the debt to over 18 trillion"
"Lowered gas prices" - (how is this bad?)
"Introduced Socialized medicine"
"Abolished the free market"

And finally:
"Contributed nothing whatsoever to the economy and was merely a bystander who got lucky"

Except that in reality the man in the office gets all the credit.

This is true. Whatever you may think of Obama, he is headed into the history books as a great President. Unless he starts a war.

The only time the guy in the white house has any influence over the economy is when it's doing bad and my party isn't running the show.

I don't think you people understand that we live in a socialist world today. You cannot produce ketchup, without Government oversight.

Stop even thinking, that you are free.

I don't buy into anything we are told by this administration. They can and will adjust things to make themselves look good, even though it is all smoke and mirrors. A good example is work force participation, the lowest in decades. That means many people who were unable to find jobs, simply quit trying. The reported job growth is mostly low end, part time jobs, performed by immigrants. The brunt of Obamacare hasn't even kicked in yet. After all the lies, how does any right minded person trust what they tell us?

Historians aren't gonna buy the "he got lucky" narrative that surely will be pitched by the right. If you've taken US history at a major college in the last 10 years you should have read the books, and they generally describe Clinton as one of the best presidents period.

Your right wing BS narrative won't make it into the history books. He will go down as great for the economy, poor on civil liberties, good foreign policy and no scandals that weren't massaged or outright manufactured by the right.

Assuming he doesn't pull a Bush and start another Middle East war. That would ruin his legacy, and he knows that. That's why he won't commit troops to Syria.

If Obama was to blame for the economy, it would have happened a lot sooner than 6 years after he took office.

Im not saying he alone is to blame but whether he deserves it or not, he WILL get credit for it.

If nothing else, by virtue of there being nobody else to give credit to.

Why it's almost as if that's the sort of thing that would be the case if a free market led to ketchup producers' wholesale fraud and mass poisoning of the consuming public oh wait

The free market is garbage, regulated market is the only good market.

Yes, and this is why I always vote for my block captain.

So he doesn't shoot me.
