How the F is "Taken" PG-13???? (SPOILERS!)

Two teenagers kidnapped, one raped, overdoses on heroin
Man tortured and electrocuted to death
Takes a walk through forced prostitution camp
Shoots an innocent woman in the shoulder
Countless people killed in various ways

????

No boobies and F-bombs so I guess that's OK.

edit: Oops meant to post this in Off Topic please move...

Death and violence is perfectly okay, so long as you don't show any boobies or genitalia.

Did they actually show the rape scene of just imply it?

from imdb...

-The UK cinema version has an alternate electrocution torture sequence. In the original version, Neeson stabs two metal spikes into the legs of his hostage and connects the jump leads to them. In the UK version, he simply attaches the leads to the metal chair. This is completely different footage redone to secure a lower rating.

-Some of the shoot outs, the torture scene and some fisticuffs have been shortened in length for the film's US release to secure a PG-13 rating.

so it seems like the scene where he tortures marco is going to be changed, as well as some of the fights (probably the scene where he stabs one of the albanian's in the heart and another one in the chest in the kitchen scene).

funny isn't it?

nudity is so taboo it's silly

I've seen a few PG-13 movies with nudity, we all kind of wondered how they still managed to keep that rating. I wish it was more defined sometimes, PG-13 is almost R in some cases which depending on the situation can be awkward.

Airplane! showed at least one topless woman. It only had a PG rating. Ahhh, the 80s. 🙂

Or maybe I'm thinking of Airplane! 2.

b/c video games have turned us into sadistic, remorseless swine that still need to be shunned from OMG BOOBIES!

its Liam Neeson

and hes always great

Uh, you must have missed that shit pile called 'The Phantom Menace'.
Wasn't his fault, though.

Yeah, that was a special case. George Lucas' field of suck sort of included everyone around him in that one.

Logan's Run, from 1976, has a PG rating and it has a significant amount of nudity. The exact same movie, if it were released today, would likely receive an R.

I dunno, but a lot of the action looked kinda cheesy. I'd probably watch it if it were rated R. Instead theres a 20% chance that I'll netflix it.

If you want ridiculous, Frost Nixon is rated R because they used the F bomb like twice in the entire movie. No nudity, no violence and barely any language.

nudity is an automatic PG-13, Nudity in a sexual way is an automatic R rating.

not true. Dead Poets society is PG and has a scene where they show a fully unclothed lady. (although it was a picture and not live action nudity)

I read a while back that they might be editing it down for the US release - does anybody know if this is true? I didn't think it was going to get a wide release so I downloaded and watched it already, but if it's the same edit I'll go pay for it again.
