The easy way to fix that would be to get rid of all the staffers that are the real politicians behind the babbling idiots we elect and see on the Sunday news shows. Then they might actually be forced to read and understand the bills they pass.

Governors in most states can do that with line item vetos. They have pretty much given up on that at the Federal level though. 🙁

I think the only way that will happen at the Federal level is if there is a constitutional convention since the pols in DC will never vote out an amendment for that to be considered by the states.
