How strong is Gmail's spam filter?

I have not recieved any spam with my main account, just made this one to test the filters:

spamfiltertester@gmail.com I'll see if I cant get on a few lists..

i didnt want to start a new thread because this was already discussed ... but im getting a ton of spam mail in my gmail account and i havent signed up for anything under it that couldve triggered it!

their filter is absolutely superb - like almost everything else they do

Not a single piece of spam yet, with moderate use. I'm happy with it.

on the contrary, i have about five or so each month that are false positive. i use the Gmail account for mailing lists though, so no big deal.
