You don't. Gmail doesn't use folders to sort email, it uses Labels. I prefer the folders myself though. Hopefully they will support that in the future.

Then you really haven't started using the labels yet.. I felt that way too, until I really started using them.. They are the same as folders, although you can have them in more than 1 "folder" or label.

You need to archive the emails. Once you do that, they will no longer appear in your inbox and you can then use the label to retrieve them.

That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about NEW emails. If 20 emails come in, and 10 are filtered with labels, and 10 aren't, all 20 still sit in the Inbox. It would be nice you could just have an option for labeled emails to not be shown in the inbox, or for there to be some option for unfiltered email to have the label "unfiltered" applied or something.
