Somebody at my job died this month from cancer. Very sweet women at the age of 38 with two childrean. One day after the offical announcement of her death in a mass e mail, someone had all ready applied to take her office. Mind you her pictures of her husband and kids are still in the office. God f'ing forbid if someone got the office before they did and would have to stay in their cube for one more month.

So, did you get the office? ;)

I have never actually watched a movie he was in. I had never heard of him until they day it was announced he was dead.

Really? Do you watch many movies? I just find it odd that someone could not have seen one of his movies...he's been in quite a few. I thought nearly everyone had seen The Patriot.

what i find really odd is that in the original thread about his death, people kept saying that their SOs called them to let them know. not to make light of the guy's death (i liked his movies), but really? this was so important that your SO calls you to let you know an actor died?

Not sure, but that is how it went in my office area as well. Crazy.

I don't see the big deal here. Sure the small lettering on the sign saying "Remember a great actor through his performances" is tacky, but otherwise there is no problem here. All stores with Heath Ledger DVDs are going to be putting them in plain view because they are now in more demand, they just won't be so blatant.

It isn't profiting off of his death, it reacting to the increased demand for his films caused by his death.

I'm glad someone has a bit of common sense in the midst of an angry mob's needless wrath.
