You're a sad, sad little man cyclo, and I pity you.
It's funny how you always wail about mods ignoring ad hom attacks, but go right on to compare others to excrement. Your ignorant hypocrisy knows no bounds. If I were a mod I'd ban your sorry ass right now.

Wow. You do realize that if you said this to me, you could be sued for slander/defamation of character? This is atrocious, and a testament to your character. You make me sick.

Regarding esun's post about doing away with the SAT, I wholeheartedly agree.

By way of example, I had terrible grades in undergraduate school, principally because I was a full time athlete and needed lots of sleep. BUT, because I'm a good test taker and the dean of the graduate school I attended loved jocks, I got in. On the other hand, a friend, who went to N.C. State <cough, cough> for undergraduate school and was PBK and Valedictorian of his class and took the SAT FIVE FRIGGIN times only scored something like 980 as his best score. He graduated 5th in our class, BTW and is now at the TOP of his profession.

These two examples are statistically aberrant I know, but there are plenty of them.

I wouldn't hold your breath.

He's a brilliant Chemical Engineer who doesn't know basic chemistry and is an accomplished researcher able to look down his nose at any real researcher...

...until he has to actually justify any of it. Then he becomes a private citizen who is not seeking employment and does not have to prove that he has ever actually published any research at all.

Cyclo is a partisan hack who cannot face the basic realities. He bullies until he is caught, lies and distorts when he is, and when all else fails and he looks beyond foolish he resorts to insults and threats.

Oh, and the freedom of speech that protects his right to insult other people doesn't apply to those undeserving, unpatriotic Americans who dare question him or Bush or any of the neo-con agenda.

Facts? They don't need facts, they have power, and if you don't like you can just STFU.

See, again, that is simplistic and naive. You have this idea that people all over the world are dying to come to America. Maybe that is true in third world countries like Mexico and those that constitute South America but it is simply wrong when it comes to Europe (which was, I believe, the topic of discussion).

There is no European desire to defect en masse and become American. America and Europe are roughly equal in lifestyle and things that would make you want to move - again, they aren't some third world country where you'd give everything that you own to escape.

Actually I think you should know that Switzerland - the most economically prosperous of West Europe - has a population that does better than most Americans. I can guarentee you that the average Swiss person is much better off than the average red state American in a one factory town. If people looked at it objectively the grass is greener in Switzerland than in central Kansas. And, as we would expect, there is no great defection from Switzerland to become American.

This whole "my country is great and all others are bad" is stupid and part of the cowboy diplomacy that has put us in danger. It is simplistic and ingores the fact that maybe people in other countries can be upset at us for reasons more complicated than simple jealousy.

Our foreign policy used to be based on the principle of "respect not ridicule". Take, for example, our relationship with France. When we approach France to join our coalition they said no. Instead of saying "Well, thanks for listening to us and maybe we can cooperate in the future" we went out of our way to insult and ridicule them - "freedom fries," "the French can't fight," etc. This nonsense made Americans look like a child throwing a tantrum rather than people who deserve to be listened to.

What we have done is ensure that French are completely unwilling to cooperate with us on any endeavor as long as Bush is in office. You want to pass a UN resolution to disarm Iran? Sorry, the French have veto power. There is a terrorist cell in Paris planning on attacking the Sears Tower? Why should the French care?

Instead of maintaining a working relationship of respect we have ridiculed and insulted them. Instead of the French looking at our mess in Iraq and thinking "our poor friends in America are struggling, isn't that unfortunate?" they now look and think "those arrogant SOBs deserve it."

It works elsewhere, too. We decided to insult and ridicule Germany for their decision to not be part of the coalition and the Germans responded by electing the candidate who ran on the anti-America platform. If we had simply been respectful they might have elected somebody willing to cooperate with us but we had to go out of our way to be insulting and have now ensured that they elected somebody contemptuous of us and unwilling to work together.

No, if we had been respectful we would have left open the opportunity to build a network of countries willing to help us fight terrorism by cracking down on their own radical Muslim populations. But instead we chose to insult them and are now paying for it with anti-American governments with no real incentive to help us from being attacked again.

This was poor diplomacy and it is has endangered us. And it is entirely the fault of Bush.

Your simplistic idea that people in Europe are tripping over themselves to come here is simply wrong. Their quality of life is the same as ours, in some cases even better, and jealousy is a poor reason compared to our insulting behavior. We got what we gave.

Europe is not some backwater third world country where America is steps above, and for all of our nonsense, Europe will be integral in preventing future terrorist attacks against us. So we did the reasonnable thing and insulted them until they no longer want to work with us. Brilliant move.

In my opinion the whole "freedom fries" incident showed how easily Americans could be led around by poor leaders to damage their own self-interest. You should note that is exactly these same leaders that have continually screwed over the red states that continue to vote for them.

Nuance and the ability to be a good global partner are integral in today's world. Acting responsibly is not the same as refusing to defend yourself, and more to the point, the foolish way that we have acted is directly opposite to what we should have done to protect ourselves.

Also I'd like to point out that for all of your talk about freedom you are quick to denounce John Kerry for exercising his freedom. You have freedom of speech unless you criticize the government, in which case you are unpatriotic and undeserving of freedom. Hypocracy at its finest.

I didn't know european conutry was the only country that mattered? The others don't count? They should just not be heard cause they're poor. OK.

Way to avoid the issue.

When the terrorists start coming from South America then we can start caring about South America. But since the terrorists come from Europe we have to deal with Europe.

In terms of terrorism the only places that matter are Europe and the Middle East.

Oh, and South America? It's poor because its corrupt. Kind of like our very own red states, where self-imposed corruption has led to massive poverty. And horrible educations.

But I don't think you could honestly address anything that I raised - I doubt you could understand most of it - so by all means become a deluded Bush follower who votes to screw himself over in the proud tradition of the red states.

The best thing about you is that your sig shows just how far your thinking goes......

Now she's put the kid away and she's gone to get a hit. She hates her life and what' she's done with it. That's one more kid that will never go to school, never get to fall in love, never get to be cool. --Neil Young

You apparently don't know what this song was written about(which shows just how typically indepth your thinking is).....it was an anti-BushI/Reagan song and Neil Young has played at Pro-choice concerts all the time.

The song is a mockery of the Republican so called Free world....you simple minded......
Mothers with unwanted babies throwing them in garbage cans......

Maybe you should listen to it again and then we can talk..

I excerpted the quote from the song because it provides an insight into a subject that I feel is very important. You can call me simple-minded or any other ignorant attacks you want to wing my way - no skin off my back. I can use a quote in my favor and so can you. The context of the song is not important to its intended usage in my profile. Now, if you have anything constructive to add, feel free. Personal attacks not included.

Can you find a single case of me stating anything towards a mod in any thread? Didn't think so. Next.

I get all you nuttie cons mixed up, I confess. It do recall seeing more than a couple posts from your crowd to the tune of 'personal attacks are fine, so long as they come from liberals.' This was what I was refering to.

From another thread:

As you can see, your logic just isn't there. Personal attacks, appeals to emotion aplenty, but not an ounce of logic in the bunch

Pointing out personal attacks whilst supplying a steady stream of your own seems to just be another example of your hypocrisy. I'm not surprised though, you think a moron like Bush is a groomed and accomplished intellectual - that speaks volumes about you.

Nothing escapes you cyclo, you're like a seive.

From this thread -
You are self-righteous in the extreme, speaking condescendingly about those whose excrement is worth more than you will ever be.

I'd say being accused of being worth less than sh!t is a fair example of a personal attack. No wait, you meant that in a good way, right? You're as much of an infant as the chimp, hurry up and get banned.

In context, the above statement is factual. You can construe it however you want, but FTP crossed the line in the sand. You've yet to add anything to any thread-you're just attacking me personally.

And now I know for sure there is something wrong with you. You refer to your own pompous invective as fact, and attempt to ignore the quotes I have provided that deal directly with the subject of the thread.

But don't let that stop you! Please, continue diggin away, I'm sure I'm not the only getting a good laugh out of you. Want a cookie?

Anti-intellectualism at its finest.

No, it doesn't take a genius to understand anything that I wrote. All that it takes is a reasonably well educated person; it is beyond sad that this forum is filled with idiots who rely on talking points and have such hatred for anybody that is remotely intelligent.

I can tell you that this is nothing remotely challenging - my work for college was much, much more difficult. The fact that you read my prior post and the most sense that you could make out of it was "poor countries don't count" shows only that you lack basic reading comprehension abilities.

The difference is that we used to let our country be run by the smartest people. Bill Clinton and his cabinet were Ivy league, best of the brightest, and it brought us tremendous prosperity and peace.

Now we have let the idiots run the country and look what it has accomplished.

None of this would matter except for the fact that you, in all your stupidity, are allowed to vote and your ignorance about world affairs and basic inability to understand my post is a recipe for danger. It is people like you, and your "books are for losers" attitude, that have given us the leaders who are driving this country into the ground and have given us failure after failure.

The fact that you are stupid should be a sign of embarrassment - not a source of pride - and the fact that it is the reverse is a sad statement about America.

I see it and I appreciate it too. I feel exactly as FTP does. Some of you Republicans can be spoiled arrogant in the extreme as if from birth you'd been taught that anything you thought was king and had never met a contending point of view. Then, when you finally get out of your six fingered families into the greater world your heads are so big that you can't even walk a straight line. Then comes the bluster and bullying with words and insult. You act like ill mannered savages tearing at a window behind which is meat having no idea how to get to the prize. Then when somebody comes along mentally equipped to do battle you cave like school yard bullies. Its a real treat to see your immature innards laid out and dressed with herbs. Wah Wah Wah the liberal insulted me as if your behavior wasn't all the embarrassment you'd ever need. And while the process of watching sausage made can be unpleasant, seeing somebody stuff you back in your skins is lots of fun and long long overdue. But the lesson I think, is that if your heads weren't so f*cking fat you wouldn't come off as such a pack of fools, not that all of you do.

Quite the backpeddle! I believe I've stated myself quite clearly thus far, perhaps you should go back to the begining of this thread and re-read my posts if the point hasn't gotten across yet.

I'm a very patient person, but such statements are intolerable and warrant or even demand retribution at some level. If I made a personal attack, so be it. I don't give a rat's ass about your disposition or your sense of justification, all I care about it is hearing a cogent defense for just about everything Bush says and does. And guess what - so far you are failing miserably! We'll just forget the personal attacks then, I'd much rather hear you honor us with a little 'W translation.' Since you vehemently support the obvious wisdom of GWB, I'll just have to resign myself to knowing I don't possess the requisite comprehension skills.

Help me out. "More seldom than not, the movies gives us exquisite sex and violence that underscores our values. Every two child did. I will." Care to break that up for a layman?
