According to a GRE to IQ chart, I have these numbers: 1280 (GRE), 133.38 (15SD IQ), 135.60 (16SD IQ), 98.696 (%tile). I have taken a few IQ tests and gotten right around those numbers. I don't know where that puts me.

Got a laugh from this thread. It made me remember the troll we had here who once said "I have high levels of smartness"

Yup!

In all honestly, while it's kind of fun to talk about IQ in a "pissing contest" sort of way, the reality is that it's just mental "horsepower" and it doesn't necessarily mean that there's any accompanying ability to "put that power to the ground". Frankly, I think a lot of very high-IQ people get caught up in theory. I know I do and it limits me practically in some ways.

I've gotten 99th percentile on all standardized tests ive talken SAT+ MCAT and a few others But it's a nongeneralizable result because of the specific people who took the tests. Not sure how I compare to the general population

I've tested to an IQ of 150, and usually get 99th percentile on standardized tests, but I haven't lived up to my potential in any area. It's this damn laziness, bah.

Probably top 5%, maybe top 1%. Only standard IQ test I took (in school) was 153. No, I have not reached my full potential, and I don't really care. I enjoy mindless stuff just as much as the next guy.

Being able to measure intelligence is a myth. It all comes down to exposure and potential. Almost everyone has the potential to become very intelligent.

Unfortunately, most people never gain the exposure to enough ideas to become intelligent. I hope that I gain enough exposure in life to become intelligent. I will say though that the internet definitely helps people obtain exposure. The next generation will be very interesting.

99th percentile on all standardized tests I've taken. I am more a generalist than a specialist, so it would be easy to find someone better than me at X activity or Y field. Not too hard to find someone with a better work ethic either.

When you say "smart" what do you mean?
Do you mean do you mean in the most narrow sense, as in, what is your IQ and how does it compare with the masses? Or do you mean in a much broader sense?

With the super narrow view being strictly intellectual capacity, I know I am in the top few percent, however, I am smart enough to know that IQ is pretty close to irrelevant when it comes to the real world. When it comes to seeing things from a MUCH broader prospective, I am much much lower than that. I mean, I speak only 1 language, I've only been to North American countries, and I'm not even 30 years old, so I have much less wisdom than those who've been around the world, speak many languages, and have had many more years worth of life experiences.

As far as living up to potential, probably not. I can pretty much handle any type of analytical work in the world .... but being an analytical thinker has it's downsides too.

I disagree, I think potential is extremely variable. But most people don't live up to their potential.

In college there were some experiments I signed up for and one of them required taking 7 IQ tests over the course of an entire school year (Aug-May). Mean score for them was 135. However, I don't put much faith in those tests so I'm going to just say I'm smarter than 2/3 of the population but marked 25% because it was the closest option.

I consider myself exactly average. People that are more intelligent are smart, and people that are less intelligent are dumb.

My IQ is around 115 so that puts me in the top 25% I guess? I'm not really sure since the last time I took at test was at 15, and since then, the pool I'm compared with has grown. With all the PHDs and other smart people as my peers instead of 15 year olds, my IQ might be diminished.

And ya, I scored around 90-99% on all my standardized tests, which goes to show that they suck at predicting IQ :p
