my favorite teacher in my HS taught drafting and architecture. he is also the faculty advisor for jets (engineering club) of which i was NOT a member though i went to a few meetings.

he is quite smart and handy =)

he's old, as in old enough to have fought in WW2, or korea, though i don't know...

he was an engineer.

My C++ teacher knows all the basics, but I can tell when the students are asking her a question she's making up some BS which is about 60-70% from the book and the C++ teachers listserv she admitted she's a member of. Hell, I really could care less, it's essentially 40 free minutes of surfing the net and learning the minor C++ technical details I never bothered to read in a book.

How smart are TechED Teachers? Ummm... I don't think I would get a degree in computer programming and then teach at a high school.

My Computer science teacher says he used to bee a cisco engineer who quit to become a teacher, more likely he was fired. I think he's only like 40 now and pretty mad that he sold all his cisco like 3 yrs ago when before it went up.

Oh yea, he's pretty dumb. Well I don't want to go into that right now, why do you read the book tonite.

And get this: His favorite trick is to toss a pen from one hand to another like its something special that he learned to do. Honestly!

My comptech teacher is not smart at all. She has a mac and she doesn't know jack about hardware. But in our school full of stupip kids I guess she gets by.

My school has some pretty good techED teachers. Our head CS teacher is on the AP board, so I think it's safe to say he knows a lot. As for our hardware guru, he quit the Navy as a engineer on a sub to tech, and considering that a lot of his students get A+ certification; I'd say he's pretty smart too.;)

when I was in high school the only class we had was typing... and the fastest computers were 386's. no wait... i do remember writing a hangman program in basic. the teacher was a 60 year old woman who didnt like computers and prefered teaching typing.

I have this teacher that was explaining how out of date the computers in the current lab we were in are. He proceeds to say that most computers now-a-days will be about 400-500MHz, I almost died laughing.
