I did this to somebody yesterday also. I was in the right lane stuck behind a slow bus and nobody would give me a chance to pul into the fast lane. I turned my flahser on, waited for the first possible opening and pulled left in between two cars. Well I guess the driver I cut off did not like my move. He passed me on the right at the first chance he got and pulled in front of me just to teach me a lesson. I was humbled by such a display of manlyness.

I ended up sending him the one finger salute.

Now if you knew you were in the wrong by cutting infront of him, why the one finger salute? Sure he was an ass, but only because of you.

Reminds me of the time some douche ran a stop sign and I honked at him. He skidded to a stop and turned around and followed me. I just continued on to my house and let him drive erratically behind me. My place was only another 6-7 blocks away, and when I parked outside and got out he just revved his engine and continued on. I'm 6'4" and 230lbs, not the biggest guy in the world but I must've been bigger than him if he went through all that trouble to just drive away.

I was afraid of getting my car window broken or something but that never happened fortunately. How someone can get so pissed off when they ran the sign and almost hit me, I have no idea. Oh and this was more proof of my theory that all drivers of Jeep Wranglers are a-holes (I have a ton of experience with this).

I wouldn't say this, but neither would I argue against it. In my mental list of rude drivers, Wrangler people are at the top by a large margin. And I drive for a living, so I see a lot. After them are pickup drivers, then Accord drivers. I have often wondered how this works. I suppose rude people are attracted to certain kinds of vehicles.

First sentence- agree. Second sentence- he's not entitled to be an ass because someone else was. It's very possible to be assed and not ass in return. One could talk a lot about this subject, but one won't here.

I'm an Accord driver but I'm courteous too, must be an exception. I do however like the way you use the word 'ass' as a verb

i think ignoring that it ever happened is a bad idea. a simple raise of your hand that you acknowledge the mistake is all that is need to calm him down.

Make some expression of the fact that you know you did a bad thing. They'll understand almost any grimace, gesture, etc. that indicates you realize what you did. That's all most folks want and, at least for me, it instantly defuses the situation. I think "okay, you're driving like an idiot, but hopefully it was a momentary lapse and at least you are aware." It's much worse when the driver proceeds blithely on his way with no indication that anything untoward has even happened.

I just get more pissed off when someone nearly kills me and then waves their hand trying to say "sorry I almost killed you" It just enrages me and makes me want to ram them off the road


Of course I'll just wave back and take a few deep breaths to calm myself down.
