How should I go about fixing this switch?

Got the switch for free, now I'm trying to fix it. So, do I try to replace the components first, or just skip that and replace the whole power supply?

Replace the cap and see if that does it. It will be the cheapest fix, and if it doesn't work you're no worse off.

Replaced cap and diode; switch now works like new!
