How should I cook a whole chicken?

I bought a Turkey/Chicken fryer last year. Fried 3 Turkeys each 10-14 pds. Saved the oil and used it last weekend and fried 2 more Turkeys and a 6.5 pds Chicken. Best Chicken I ever tasted and same for the Turkeys!!!

For me it took 30 Minutes for 6.5 pd. chicken and 50 Mins for a 14 Pd Turkey @ 325 degrees.

Yeah but it works. It's a real recipe called Beer Can Chicken. The evaporating beer flavors the meat very well. It's my preferred way to cook chicken

Beer Can Chicken is absolutely delicious

Thaw thoroughly. Take out whatever nasties they shoved in it (feed the dog). Shove or sprinkle herbs of various kinds inside, maybe some garlic (or maybe a lot of garlic). Very lightly oil the skin of the breast and legs, then sprinkle with salt, pepper, herbs (Italian blend, herbes de Provence, whatever). Roast in oven (oh, maybe 350-375) breast side up until a thermometer shows 180 degrees. Could take a good hour, so don't forget to plan ahead.

I stuffed the lil' bastard, injected it with a bunch of orange juice and an unholy amount of butter, threw it in a glass dish, and covered it with foil.

Came out great.

Don't forget it has to be a large Diet Coke, as you don't want to drink something which might make you fat.
