How Should I configure my IDE Devices?

60 GB Main HD
DVD
Burner
6 GB HD for MP3s(I dont care if its slow)

also is there a way to tell the ata rating on my hd

i'd probably just put the 60 gigger as primary master with the 6 gigger as primary slave. then make the burner secondary master and the dvd-rom secondary slave.

also, if you just get your hard drive model # and manufacturer, go to their website and look up the specs on it to see if it's ata100

If your going to be copying from Cd to CD theres something to be said for having the drives on to different channels though..

Here is what you should do. Get a promise ata/66 card for cheap. Then Put the HDD's on that card's ports, and the DVD/Burner on the motherboard's ata ports that way everything will be on a seperate channel.

Depends on what you'll be doing. If you plan on copying CDs, you'll want the burner and the dvd on different IDE channels. If you won't be doing much copying of CDs, you could use Sohcrate's suggestion.
