How sharp are your dikes?

I've got several pair of dykes that are nice and sharp, but I keep them locked up away from my wife. She has a habbit of destroying my tools for some reason - she ruined several pair of small dykes using them to cut clothes hangers for some craft thing she was doing. She also ruined a couple of phillips head screwdrivers by using them as paint mixers and not cleaning them off. The list goes on and on 🙂.

i cut hangers with dykes all the time.

Careful though - many are NOT designed to cut ferrous material and such their cutting edges will be damaged. If the cutters are "messenger rated" you can usually cut steel, for example. Small ones like my electronic ones would be ruined trying to cut coat hangers. 😱

I asked for dykes and strippers for Christmas and all I got were these fucking tools. 🙁

Well if you use dikes improperly and cut your wire too short it's too hard to skin it. 😛

If you wanted f*cking tools perhaps you should've asked for a goat milking machine or a reciprocating saw! 😱
