I think mine is the kind that is sinus oriented, because the past 4 days i've had tonsillitis.

So what you think guys, Should I call the doc

Update

Fak, Now I got it in both eyes, prior only the left. GDI GDI I was so careful too.

Looks like I can't hope to be a pirate if this gets any worse. Still can't find a Doc till Monday.

Diagnosis:

Wait H/O Ok, I have the sore throat typical of a viral type, but My eye has a discharge that isn't watery typical of a bacterial. OMG I think I have both the bacterial and the viral kind. GDI GDI

Any home remedies out there?
I have minor eye discomfort, but my throat is killing me.
Can't get a doc till monday

How old are you and you don't know this yet?

When to seek medical advice

Pink eye can be an irritating condition, but it's usually harmless to your sight and typically doesn't require extensive or emergency treatment. Yet because pink eye can be highly contagious for as long as two weeks after signs and symptoms begin, it's important to seek diagnosis and treatment early.

Keep children with bacterial conjunctivitis away from child care facilities or school until after they start treatment. Children with viral conjunctivitis are usually contagious for a few days. Check with your doctor if you have any questions about when your child can return to school or child care. Most schools and child care facilities require that your child wait at least 24 hours after starting treatment before returning to school or child care.

Occasionally, conjunctivitis causes corneal complications ? in both adults and children ? making early treatment even more important.

It's not that you need to go or you'll go blind but if you don't get treated you better not leave your house for at least 14 days and for the love of God don't have anyone over for.....however long bacteria lives on untreated surfaces...probably months. You should always go to the Dr. the min you notice pink eye or you'll pass it to numerous people. Not because it'll kill them but everyone you come in contact with will stand in line to slash your tires when they get it.....that will be a lot of tires...

EDIT: And tisk to whomever voted for No, be a man. I hope you guys were joking.

Just let it be known that it's really contagious, and you should stay away from people until it clears up.

Just do your best to keep your eyes from burning, wash your hands... maybe use some eyedrops from time to time? It's kinda one of those things you have to wait out, IIRC.

I had Pink Eye once, I had no medical insurance so I waited it out. SUUUUUCKED. putting warm tea bags on your eyes helps. I'm not sure why exactly but was told this by a neighbor friend who's a pharmacist. It seemed to relieve my pain somewhat.

Meh. I had conjunctivitis and my eyes bled profusely. Then and only then did I seek medical attention. One might consider waiting so long a bad move on my part. I loved not being able to open my eyes on the morning, feeling extreme pain, and most of all, looking like a sick dog.

Oh, they put me on eye drops that burned like heck, they had steroids in them.

See a doctor if it persists after a few days. I had it for 3 weeks while on a camping trip.

Most of the time its not that serious, however you should still see a doctor for medication if its not markedly better within 2 days at most ... also as others have said make sure to wash your hands frequently & avoid touching your eyes.

I had pink eye last year and went to the doctor. He said most of the time it'll clear up on it's own in about 3 days if it's a virus. If it goes on longer than t hat, it's bacterial and you need to go in and get eye drops.

I had what was apparently a pretty bad case, and the doc sounded pretty serious about it. Had to put some stuff in my eyes every two hours for the first day or so. Either way you should get on antibiotics so you don't infect everything (assuming it's bacterial).

Did you touch your bare anus then touch your eye?

I might have, so what, you've never scratched your ass? That isn't the case here, but had it been, "Fuk you and your indifference". and I already mentioned the most probably reason in my op.

I'm pretty sure I had viral conjunctivitis a couple weeks back. It was right in the middle of the quarter and part of a seriously fucked up health scenario for me for some reason
started with sinus infection. went to doctor, got amoxicillin but was told if it started further clearing up the next day (the day I went I was feeling better and felt like a trend from the day prior too) then I wouldn't need to get the prescription filled. Well, it continued to get better... and then SLAM I had the flu. 3 days of fever, most of the time around 103º... well the flu, I figure.. no need for medical treatment for that. Just sucks, and I was fine the fourth day, except runny nose and whatnot. And then the fucking sinus infection came back! I was like wth no wai! And my body was like ya wai!. Ugh. About a week or two into it the second time, I started the antibiotics (10 days) and it cleared up fully about a week into them and I've been good since then. The pink eye came from the sinus infection, as my eyes (really only my right eye but a touch in the left) would be all gunked up and glued in the mornings. It may not have even been pink eye but just severe irritation from the overflowing sinuses. The first time I didn't really have any headaches though, then when the sinus infection rebounded I had headaches. My body hated me.
Sinus infection I ended up having total for somewhere close to 6 weeks. Ugh. I have bad sinuses as it is I think. Pretty sure I had numerous sinus headaches growing up and a few sinus infections but they were usually short lived.

No idea, I'd ask your physician. Since (that I know of) you don't become immune to pinkeye like strains of colds (i.e. you can't get the same cold twice) at least you could do like a 1/4clorox to 3/4water solution on a cloth and wipe stuff down.

Disclaimer: This might discolor everything you wipe down which is why I said ask the Dr. :p

Just don't touch anyone else's face and you'll be fine. It probably is most contagious for children, because gradeschool kids like touching everything and everyone, and among those things might be their own eyes, and someone else's face or hands.

I had pink eye once. I got some really cheap eyedrops, my eyes itched like hell for a few days, and then it was gone.
