I've heard that there have been some problems with it in the beta, but I would like to know if it is safe to use in RC1.

Thought I must say, for secure docs wouldn't it be better to use ANY type of encryption rather than leave the files plain?

Thanks,

I wouldn't trust it with anything really important, but as you said it would be better than leaving them plain. The upside of it AFAIK is that this encryption is done on the fly so aside from the slowdown it's invisible to the user. Most programs aside from one or two I found (and those only had free versions for Linux. Windows versions were pay) require that you encrypt a file and then decrypt it manually before using it. That's a little more time consuming.

You might want to check our PGP though. i think they have that manual encrypt/decrypt avail for free. I think they might have on the fly avail too but I think it's a pay version. Check it out though.

It should work ok, being that its from the win2k encryption... But I can't attest for the rest of the OS since it is a beta. I'd say U have a 99% chance of it being just fine..... besides you dont really keep alot of important info on a beta do you?
