How safe is it to use Asian power plug in the US with a plug converter

Well, I got back from a cell phone shop and bought a new cell phone. At the time the guy told me it was a Asian import and I thought nothing of it but when I got home I found out I couldn't plug the power plug in to the wall because it's 2 round prong Asian power plug. I have a universal plug converter that will allow me to connect it to the US plug but it say's "Using a plug adapter in a foreign power source with voltage higher or lower than your electronic equipment specifies creates a risk of damaging or destroying the equipment" So I'm worried that if I use this power converter I might break my new cell phone.

The power plug is rated
input 100-240V ~ 50/60Hz, 0.1A
output: 5V ==550mA

does anyone know it will be safe for me to us this power plug from Asia in a US power socket with plug converter?

if it is 100-240v 50/60hz, it is world power. no transformer or anything neccessary, just pin adaptor.

Cool, I really can't wait to power up my cell phone but I have to charge it up for 12 hours first. I guess if it doesn't work then my moto razr v3 will be flea-bay'd trash.

thanks for the help

I have the same charger with my Razr using a pin adaptor for the charger. Since it says 100-240v, no problem for US power. Been using it for months without any issue.

yup, like most laptops, if it has that range, then it'll work with a cheap converter plug
