maybe he owns a small business? can you buy things off of ebay and resell them?

no, they have strict rules about that. if you buy something off of ebay, you are never allowed to resell it. they software that checks your sale auctions against you bought auctions. if they find a match, they charge you a penalty fee of 10% of your listed item's beginning auction cost.

but couldn't you resell the item under a different username/name/address such as a PO box? or maybe your sister/brother's house?

Many people use a different account for selling than they do for buying.

Good thing that Red isn't a mod for eBay. They would be screwed. :p

There is nothing wrong with the TOS doing this. I have one account for everything. However, it protects those that buy and sell on ebay as well as keeps their feedback locked into buying and selling modes.

I do think they should post an aggregate feedback rating for all accounts owned, but that would be almost impossible to do.

I would imagine that it would be hard to make money doing that anyways. Only was I can see it is if you buy something then repair it and sell it.

you'd be surprised how many people just move stuff through ebay...hell in today's computer market it's easy to buy at retail one day and sell at a profit the next with FAR's and special promotions.
