Republican say "Merry Christmas!"
Democrats say "Happy Holidays!"

Republicans help the poor during the holidays by sending $50 to the
Salvation Army.
Democrats help the poor by giving $50, one buck at a time, to panhandlers on
the street.

Democrats get back at Republicans on their Christmas list by giving them
fruitcakes.
Republicans re-wrap them and send them to in-laws.

Democrats let their kids open all the gifts on Christmas Eve.
Republicans make their kids wait until Christmas morning.

When toasting the Holidays, Republicans ask for sherry or mulled wine.
Democrats ask for egg nog.

When not in stores, Republicans use a catalog.
Democrats watch for "incredible tv offers" on late night television.

Democrats do a lot of their shopping at Cost-Co and WalMart.
So do Republicans, but they don't admit it.

Democrats give their children gifts that make a political statement.
Republicans give their children gifts that will keep them out of their hair.

Republican parents have no problem buying their kids toy guns.
Democrats refuse to do so. That is why their kids pretend to shoot each
other with dolls.

Republicans spend hundreds of dollars and hours of work decorating the yard
with outdoor lights and Christmas displays.
Democrats save their time and money and drive around at night to enjoy the
scenery.

Democrats favorite Christmas movie is "Miracle on 34th Street."
Republicans favorite Christmas movie is "It's a Wonderful Life."
Right-Wing Republicans favorite Christmas movie is "Diehard".

Republicans always take the price tag off any expensive gifts they buy
before wrapping.
Democrats also remove price tags off pricey gifts... and reposition them
them to make sure they are seen.

Republicans wear wide red ties and green sport jackets during the festive
season.
Democrats do too, all year round.

Most Republicans try, at least once, enclosing indulgent, wretchedly maudlin
form letters about their families in their Christmas Cards.
Public ridicule from Democrats usually discourages them from doing it again.

Democrats favorite Christmas song is "Deck the Halls".
Young Democrats favorite Christmas song is "Grandma Got Run Over by a
Reindeer."
Republicans favorite Christmas song is "White Christmas."
Young Republicans favorite Christmas song is "White Christmas."

Cheapskate Republicans buy an artificial Christmas tree.
Tightfisted Democrats buy a real tree, but they wait until the week before
Christmas when the lots lower their prices.

Democratic men like to watch football while their wives, girlfriends, or
mothers fix holiday meals.
On this, Republicans are in full agreement.

Republicans see nothing wrong with letting their children play "Cowboys and
Indians."
Democrats don't either, as long as the Indians get to win.

Republicans first began thinking like Republicans when they stopped
believing in Santa Claus...
Democrats became Democrats because they never stopped believing in Santa
Claus...

PC 12 days of Christmas

On the 12th day of the Eurocentrically imposed midwinter festival, my Significant Other in a consenting adult, monogamous relationship gave to me:
TWELVE males reclaiming their inner warrior through ritual drumming,
ELEVEN pipers piping (plus the 18-member pit orchestra made up of members in good standing of the Musicians Equity Union as called for in their union contract even though they will not be asked to play a note),
TEN melanin deprived testosterone-poisoned scions of the patriarchal ruling class system leaping,
NINE persons engaged in rhythmic self-expression,
EIGHT economically disadvantaged female persons stealing milk-products from enslaved Bovine-Americans,
SEVEN endangered swans swimming on federally protected wetlands,
SIX enslaved Fowl-Americans producing stolen non-human animal products,
FIVE golden symbols of culturally sanctioned enforced domestic incarceration, (NOTE: after members of the Animal Liberation Front threatened to throw red paint at my computer, the calling birds, French hens and partridge have been reintroduced to their native habitat. To avoid further Animal-American enslavement, the remaining gift package has been revised.)
FOUR hours of recorded whale songs,
THREE deconstructionist poets,
TWO Sierra Club calendars printed on recycled processed tree carcasses and...
ONE Spotted Owl activist chained to an old-growth pear tree.

"It's A Wonderful Life" is one of THE most populist, explicitly American left wing Hollywood movies ever made.

If anyone is so dense as to REALLY need this to be pointed out to them, well, here is just one quick Googled link:
The height of his [Frank Capra -- the director] popularity in the ?30s and early ?40s coincided with the era of the Popular Front uniting people of progressive faith to fight the Depression and then fascism. This coalition quickly fell apart after the war. The now-ascendant rightists viewed Capra?s films as particularly suspect. Indeed, a 1947 internal report by J. Edgar Hoover?s FBI cited It?s a Wonderful Life and Mr. Smith Goes to Washington as subversive, left-wing attacks on capitalism.
Need another? Otay, here's one, just in passing:
In terms of injecting leftist sensibility lines into films, the Reds were disingenuous in denying attempts to do so, and HUAC was just as disingenuous in seeing all such input as ideological intrigue. The lines Reds put into It?s A Wonderful Life (1946) do not seem to have ruined many Christmas dinners or turned Jimmy Stewart into a leftist ikon.
Righties think they own and represent all of America. That has never been true (hums "This Land is My Land", by Woody Guthrie, an AMERICAN icon who hated and fought right wingers his entire life, as he exits left . . .) ;)

Hey I just finished watching its a wonderful life. I enjoyed the movie, and I am VERY republican.

I fail to see how it is so terribly leftist, the main expression of the movie is the impact that a single life has on everyone.

By supporting a decrease of governemt involvement in economic affairs, Repulicans are not promoting a skrewing of the people. We merely realize that the governemt is not capable of helping the people through regulation. There is nothing wrong with people like George from the movie who are willing to go out of their way to help others. Any republican who says that people should not help one another is callus. The point is that both parties want to help the people, they just disagree on how to do it.

Wow, support an Administration that made them amputees and then try to clear your conscience by donating money to help them deal with the horror that same Administration inflicted on them by donating money to them.

What are you doing for Christmas this year?
Maybe I'll follow your lead by mocking some homeless people and then clear my conscience by donating a few bucks to a Salvation Army Bell Ringer.

Once again, the troop vollunterred to fight in this war. They signed up knowing that injury and death were a possibility. They were proud to fight for their country and they are fighting for a VERY worthwhile cause.

The troops are fighting to free Iraq. If you support them, you support freeing Iraq.

the cause is what the troops represent. the cause its freeing Iraq, and if you are against the cause you are against the troops.

Some freedom sounds more like genocide to me. Or is THAT your idea of freedom?
If the troops were so heroic and high and mighty they would tell bush to take a hike and come home.
They are making Iraq far worse by their continued agitation of the situation.
They know it bush kows it too bad foxnews hasen't shown YOU the mess bush got us into.
You really need a wake-up call, hang out grab some coffee sit back and learn the horrible truth of what you support by giving legitamcy to the bullying of a soverign nation.

OMFG, we are not committing genocide against the Iraqi people!

There is NO evidence of this. Not even the most wacked up liberal congressmen are accusing the administration of that.

We are wiping of a tyrannical regime, and helping spread freedom

They are having elections for god's sake, they are clearly moving towards a system where people have more rights than they have ever had in the thousands of years of that country's history.

troops have an alliegence to their country. Frankly it doesn't matter what they think of the war. They get to voice their opinion at the polls, same as everyone else.

Yeah right, the soldiers signed up because they wanted to risk life and limb to liberate third world countries around the globe from Tyranny:roll:

They signed up to serve their country and do their duty. Their superiors ordered them to go fight in Iraq and followed their orders. That's the way it should be. I support them, I believe that they should be given all the means to execute their orders as efficiently and safely as possible and I believe that they should be brought home sooner than later.

You seem like the type of person who believes if an American Citizen doesn't support what his president is doing he is unpatriotic.

Nope no genocide (Violent link showing those super-patriot soldiers handiwork and liberation of the Iraqi people) becasue foxnews says so of course. Wake up man how can you have elections when the election poll employees are gunned down in the street an beheaded?
You are just another hypocrite, as soon as these guys get home with all the problems they will have to live with themselves for the evils they have done for bush you will be spitting on them when you see them panhandling in the streets after bush dumps them on their ass like a true republican.
fair weather patriots, you all make me ralph.

Hmm...I have two of my fraternity brothers that are over there right now.

I also know another guy that was on the missile inspection team in Iraq.

Funny how they never said anything about genocide.

....but what do they know. They're all brainwashed idiots who obviously cant understand the situation as well as a guy sitting behind a computer in the US who gets his information from the media.

Yeah they are going to risk court-marshal to go against orders and speak against the mission.
They are not ALLOWED to speak the truth. How many real warblogs have been shut down now by the DoD types?
Anyhow when those guys have a job to do they are focused on what is in front of them. Talking about this stuff is pretty chickensh1t around other troops. It will be their wives and familys who will suffer with for their psychological wounds when they get home.
Watch the murder rate skyrocket when the war is over.
