Just check the vin to see how many owners have had it because it's a ricer magnet and 18 year old grease bag dream car, so who knows what's been done to it.

I had the Dodge version of this car, the Avenger twice, first one was 95 2.0l 4 banger with a 5 speed, one of my fav cars that I've owned, 40 mpg running from Ohio to Canada at 90 mph. The second, a 97 Avenger ES, with the leather V6 and automatic was the worst car. Suffers badly from the Dodge automatic transmission syndrome.

If you're looking at one, the 2.0 5 speed is just fun, and sickenly good on gas.

The avenger is not a Eclipse...
It was the Mitsu Eclipse, Eagle Talon and Plymouth Laser

The avenger was built in the Normal Il plant, same line as the ecliple/talon, most of the same parts, but it did use the hood and a similar front end to the 24V steath's. I spent a solid 4 months of my life reprocessing just about every weld in that plant.
