How rare is it for caucasians to have brown eyes?

I didn't read the whole thread here but.... has no one taken Bio 101? There aren't just two eye color genes (blue or brown); there's a spectrum of I think 7. The more you have, the darker your eyes. I.E., if you have 7, you have black (darkest brown) eyes, and if you have 0, you have pink (albino) eyes. Blue is like 1 or 2, then green, hazel, light brown, dark brown, etc.

The point is, one parent could have blue eyes (from 2 certain genes), and the other could have blue eyes (from the other two genes), and the kids could have anywhere from light blue (from getting 1 or 2) to brown (from getting all 4).

For example, my dad has hazel eyes. My mom has blue eyes. I have brown (lightish) eyes; my brother has blue eyes and the other has green.

EDIT: Oh, and also, your eye color can change from the way your iris folds up as you are growing as a lil' kiddy, so there's some more variation there.

yeah WTF are you talking about. I think brown is the dominant color if i'm not mistaken

Brown is dominant but since 2 blue eyed parents cannot have a brown eyed child and 2 brown eye parents can have a blue eyed child it seems to make brown eyes rarer.

If I remember AP BIo correctly, there's only a 1/4 chance that 2 brown eyed ppl can hav a blue-eyed child, so brown eyes are dominant. Besides, serioulsy, most ppl I know have brown eyes.

I have hazel eyes, BTW

I'm going to end this thread with the definitive response.

There are NO white people with brown eyes in the world. In fact, there are no white people, or people with eyes.

This thread is *over*

I voted blue eyes (cause thats what they are in most lighting) but my eye color actually changes to green while I sleep and turn blue throughout the morning (the brighter the light the faster they turn blue)

strangest thing is when I take a long nap in the middle of the day everyone askes me if I'm wearing colored contacts.

I believe the caucasian trend is the following.

White females are more likely to have brown eyes, and white males are more likely to have hazel green eyes. That and i think that 60% or more of white people (both sexes) that have blond hair, also have blue eyes, and vice versa.

"And its actually not impossible for blue eyed parents to produce a brown eyed child"

sounds like the milkman did it.
