Since 2 blue eyed cacausians cannot have a brown eyed child and 2 brown eye parents can have a blue eyed child, even though blue eyes are recessive, it is rare to meet a caucasian with brown eyes. Poll is for caucasians only please.

WTF are you talking about? Damn near every caucasian I know has brown eyes. Every girl I've ever dated has been white with brown eyes. I'm white and have brown eyes. Both my parents are. My brother is the same.

Really? It is the opposite for me, it seems every single caucasian I meet has either blue or green/hazel eyes. I find it really rare for caucasians to have brown eyes.

Brown is dominant but since 2 blue eyed parents cannot have a brown eyed child and 2 brown eye parents can have a blue eyed child it seems to make brown eyes rarer.

From my understanding, blue eyes and blond hair are weak genes, and will cease to exist in the not too distant future.

I have dark brown eyes, BTW.

They are not weak genes, they are recessive genes. Not sure about hair though.

Wait so why can't two blue eyed people have a brown eyed child? They still have that gene don't they?

Blue eyes are recessive that is why.

Which means they can only come out if both pop up blue. Why does that mean two blue eyed people can't have a brown eyed child? They still carry both genes, do they not?

I don't know if that's even possible. Consider A being the dominant and B being the recessive gene. If two AB had offsprings, you have a 1 in 4 chance of having a BB. BB can only have BB offsprings.

No, if they have blue eyes they do not have the brown eye gene. But brown eye people can have blue eyed genes. That is why 2 brown eyed parents can have blue eyed children but not vice versa.

It seems to, but think about it a little. Dig way back into your 8th grade biology memories. Remember punnet squares? There's a teeny, tiny chance of a brown+brown couple producing a blue child. It's a 1/4 chance if both parents are carrying the blue eye gene.
