130 gov't programs is nowhere near the total amount that exists in the first place. So his statements make perfect sense and are consistent if you can add numbers.

Farm Ownership Loans?
Hybrid vehicles for the military (up-armored Prius?)

Sounds like stimulus to me.

How about small business loans? How about tax credits to businesses that hire American workers? How about tax credits to businesses that make capital investments?

Loans could be stimulus. You make it sound like stimulus is some sort of magical standalone category of government spending.

I don't disagree. I fail to see how Farm Ownership loans is going to help John Q. Public. Most small business farms are family owned and generally only change hands through inheritance. If they're getting sold, it's because they're selling out to a corp like ADM or something.

Someone decides to go into farming, gets loan from government, hires John Q. Public? You really fail to see that?
If no one really wants to take a loan out to buy a farm, guess what, this provision will cost nothing. So why are we even talking about it?

Rarely if ever happens. Farming is generally either a family business or run by one of the big corps. My brother-in-law farms a couple of thousand acres, has to work as a firefighter to make ends meet, and hires one guy to help harvest. My wife's best friend's father is one of the biggest family farmers in our region, he has three employees.

It's not a manpower intensive job with the equipment available.

Give 'em all a big tax break for buying combines and keep John Deere and Case in business, that would help more than ownership loans.

Now why would they want to do that? When workers depend on a business for a paycheck they want a govt that doesnt interfere. When workers depend on the govt for a paycheck they want politicians that deliver. Creating a new class of people who depend on the govt gurantee's votes. Who is going to vote somebody out of office who hands them a check?

No it would not. You have to make actual profit to benefit from a tax break. Some people need loans now, and in case you haven't noticed we are in a credit crunch.
Also if as you claim this rarely if ever happens, then like I said, noone will use this loan program and it will cost nothing.

I am sorry you don't find Obama's package stimulating because of the condoms.

Kinda like you need to actually pay taxes to get a tax cut?
