hehe one of those previous links listed Russia's nuclear weapons stockpile to be over 21 thousand, what more would you need? Russia and the US have enough to end the world many times over, Israel has enough to blow up the middle east and China can take care of the rest of Asia.
Also to note, Israel stated they would nuke Iraq if Saddam launched a chemical or biological warhead at them. As of now, I would actually be very surprised if a nuke was not used in the upcoming war, by whom I don't know.

Nuclear weapons come in many sizes. They have tended to be much smaller in recent decades because delivery systems are more accurate. Tactical weapons, such as nuclear artillery, can be very small, about .05-.1 kilotons. There is no upper limit on size. You could build a stationary bomb that would yeild thousands of megatons and destroy the earth's climate system to the extent that no higher forms of life would survive...if there could ever be a reason for doing something so stupid.
Well why do you believe they have them, as purely a "symbol" of their scientific and technical achievement?
Inevitably in every discussion where the term 'nuclear bomb' or 'nuclear weapon' is mentioned, the "chicken littles" invariably demonstrate their profound ignorance by predicting the end of the world...if not the universe...because of a little nuclear bomb or three, more or less.
Collectively, the United States, Britain, France, and Russia detonated a FEW THOUSAND multi-megaton and multi-kiloton devices, both free air and below ground. Not only has the world not exploded, but an international consortium of scientists estimated the cumulative affects of nuclear testing result in an additional 800 - 1000 cases of cancer annually worldwide, which is a statistically insignificant fraction of the number of cancer cases diagnosed in the United States alone, not to speak of worldwide cancer cases.

Good god that would be a huge mistake. The US doesn't take too kindly to the idea of losing it's sovereignty and would very likely
deal a fatal nuclear blow to all involved. Which of course will be responded to. And then that response will be responded to.
Over and over until we're all fscked.
There are a few countries on earth (US, Russia) that will NEVER lose sovereignty from invasion as the whole of humanity would pay a severe price as a result. 🙁
The ONLY reason ANY country has nukes is to show they will annihilate those who try to take their sovereignty. They certainly don't have them as paperweights.
