I was lucky enough to live there as an Army Brat back in '70 and '71. Finished school at Kapiolani. Pop was a senior Colonel and we lived on DeRussey next door the Hilton Hawaiian Village. By the end of two years my brother and I had Island fever like everyone gets and couldn't wait to get off the island. Now, 30 years later our fondest memories of growing up were that time on the islands. There is a great line from an old Joni Mitchell song "You don't know what you have 'til it's gone." I'd be willing to bet it will be the case for each of you. A tropical paradise like Hawaii is an opportunity you may never see again. Live for today, be thankful for your experiences, and for heavens sake, play with all those gurlies you possibly can while your young 😉
