Most people are picky eaters because they are ignorant but usually the blame is not placed on them, it's their parents fault. Most parents will listen to their kids and instead of making them eat mushrooms and broccoli and seafood, they buy them McDonald's.

Being a picky eater is extremely annoying to other people and always messes up meals. Oh, we can't go to this restaurant because you don't like salads, mushrooms, onions, or beef?

I'm a bit picky, but not too bad. I'm not fond of trying weird foods though. I'll stick to Canadian/US dishes.

The only thing I can think of I don't like off the top of my head is

Onions: I totally DESPISE that taste. You can try to hide it in a burger and I WILL find it, and remove it.
Tomatoes: I can tolerate them a bit
Mushrooms: same as tomatoes
Cheesecake: hard to explain, I'm a big desert/sweets lover, but this is something I can't really stand the taste.
Steak/porkchops: I'm not a big meat eater to begin with, but these are the two I can't stand and have lot of trouble with if I'm in a situation where I have to eat it. I find it's like eating rubber or something, it's tasteless and hard to chew

There might be other stuff but can't really think of it.

You call that a "bit picky?" You dislike some of the building blocks of entire cuisines including Italian and French. You don't like onions? Guess what's in a mirepoix? You don't like steak? Tomatoes? And you only eat American and Canadian foods, two countries that have little to no original dishes (you really want to count pies)? So pretty much you eat hot dogs?

I don't like tomatoes... They have a weird texture. Onions are the shit though. Especially with pepper on them... oh hell yeah. :awe: Love me some pepper!

Steak can be great, but it depends. A lot of the time it's horrible. 😛 I don't like any kind of semi-gooey/hard to chew type stuff on a steak or porkchop either. Just cannot stand it.

By itself its just too much, but diced and added to some other food its great. Grilled onion is the best.

even grilled, onion is too strong by itself.

i can only eat onion "solo" if it's sauteed. and even then, i prefer it sauteed with mushrooms and peppers. My version of a Mirepoix if you will.

Please tell me you dont eat raw onion.
😱

god... how did you ever get a girl to talk to you if you do.

:hmm:

I gotta say, whenever I get subway and such... People can smell the onion from half a mile away because I put so much on it... Along with a ton of pepper... God yeah. I usually have red onion. I don't recall what other kinds of onion I might like. I am sure I like more, but I definitely know I like me some red onion... with black pepper... Mmm yeah.

Oh, and I try to rinse my mouth out and chew gum after eating it, otherwise I do have horrid breath. 😛

Garlic is not spicy. It's actually smooth and mellows out spice.

Terracotta garlic roaster in the oven with half a dozen cloves in it till the cloves are soft and warm... then squeeze them out and spread them over a cracker. NOMZ!

? Is that a reference to my breath or to spiciness? It's ambiguous. If it's breath you should have posted something more disgusting looking. If it's spiciness then you are a spice pussy 🙂

It's not ambiguous if you know what it is...

that's a Dragon's Breath shotgun round.

it's a reference to your breath.

"Well, I'm sorry. I didn't know that I was being rude."

You are either extremely immature or incredibly clueless. Or maybe both.

I'll try most anything, but don't eat jellyfish, organ meats or most kinds of seaweed.

And the Irish bread my grandmother used to make (just say no to fennel).

I stay away from organ meats - usually the flavor is too damn strong. Why seaweed?

I'd like to get used to organ meats. I agree the taste is strong and takes getting used to. Liver and stomach are the only organ meats that I remember the flavours of.

I hate seaweed. just a really weird texture/taste.

it sucks -- the best sushi place around me doesn't offer soy wraps and the one place that does offer them isn't nearly as good (they tend to be really heavy on the rice and light on the fish in their rolls)
