How painful is childbirth?

I think the quote is...take your bottom lip and try to pull it over your head.

I thought you were talking about a different kind of lip.

Has anyone here experience child birth and something else more painful?

Learning that you are the father (should you not have anticipated it).

One of my colleagues came to my office one day. He was pale. No, he was *WHITE*. He just stood there, so I had to ask as to what happened. Thought someone just died or his car got stolen, dunno. Then he said it, haha. I couldn't hold it back, I had to laugh in his face. They weren't even together by the time it happened. Later they got married. They never really loved each other. Years had past, they got separated. That's life. Sometimes sucks ultimately.

A pinched nerve/bad disk in your back can be pretty excruciating. I woman I know who had back surgery likened the pain to giving birth to her first kid...FWIW.
I know the pain pretty much wiped me out before my surgery.

My wife had a rough time with the pain of contractions. She got to about 3.5cm or so and then asked for an epidural. Prior to the epidural she was just shaking from the pain she just experienced while waiting for the next wave of pain to hit. After the epidural she was on the phone chatting with friends and relatives.

My wife had our first kid without an epidural. She told me she's going to ask for one for the second kid if that tells you anything.

When my daughter was born, I took a look "down there". Her head was out and I almost was. I had to sit in a chair with my head below my heart so I wouldn't pass out. The nurse thought it was cute. I thought I was going to do a face plant on the floor.
Childbirth HAS to hurt like a mofo.

I heard that childbirth is as painful as when your appendix bursts inside of you.

i've had appendicitis before.

i've also heard that childbirth is like trying to pee a watermelon out of your uretha.

Yep, my ex-wife opted for the epidural and couldn't tell if she was having a contraction without looking at the machine. It really turned labor into a non-event. Well at least the part before you have to expel a baby from your crotch.

Start flushing hundreds of dollars of your hard earned money down the toliet EVERYDAY for 18 years.

It's that painful...

i passed a bigass kidney stone and the nurse said shes had kids and shes had kindey stones.
The kidney stone she had were half as big as mine and they hurt worse than the kid.
I cried. I moaned. I threw up in pain. Then i passed it. then i passed out.
They even gave me an epidural for the pain but it doesnt help.
Luckily my pains only lasted about a day...i couldnt imagine being in contractions for 2-3 days striaght...so i'd say womens still have a one up there but not by much.

My wife gave birth without any medication the first time. She had an epidural the second, but said it was just as bad as the first. Yeah, she also ripped 1/2 way to her asshole. *shudder*

I don't think I'd have kids if I were a female. F that.

My wife had three children no pain killers. The second and third born at home, and the second was 11 pounds.

She says it's awful, but it has an end to look forward to which makes it bearable.
