How on Earth can Latinos support Trump?

The last few days I have seen incredible vile and extreme comments on Youtube (yes I know...) by Trump supporters which now 100% confirm to me that a number (many?) of Trump supporters *ARE* extreme racists.

When I say "racists" I mean it in the worst way, people who have no problem commenting how they'd wish hanging/killing Mexicans, Liberals etc.

It blows my mind because this more than obvious extremism (even if it only happens in people's minds on a fricking Internet board or on YT) usually comes together with claims that Trump (and his supporters) "are not racists" because it's allegedly just "against the illegals" and it won't affect the other, 'good' Mexicans. (So basically a fake, pseudo justification that the racism is justified).

What totally blows my mind is a number of Latinos who openly say they support Trump (amidst the most vile, outright extremist/racist comments) because those Latinos THINK that they're "better than the illegals".

It usually goes like this: "I support Trump because my family came here legally and I don't support those leeches either who come here illegally"

"I support Trump and his 'immigration plan' because my family did a lot 'for America', we worked hard, so we're sure the better Latinos and we don't support the freeloaders."

The gist here is that some Latinos think that racism would exclude them.

Obvious problem: Racism doesn't work like this.

A racist/extremeist won't look at a Latino or a Black person or a liberal, or [insert whatever here] and then hand them a questionnaire first to decide whether their hate is justified. They obviously believe that...

On a side-note, let's just speculate Trump would really become president....I fear this country (I fortunately don't live there any longer) will literally explode. I see riots and worse coming, at a level we've never seen before.

** I also find it noteworthy to mention that the hate against Mexicans is usually also paired with hate against liberals, "leftists", progressives etc...and sure we can add gays there too..basically all parts of society which are disliked by the ultra-right. If you think the nation is "divided" now, I think we haven't seen anything YET....

Because, you know, some of them support something called *THE LAW* and *SOVEREIGNTY*. Many see the illegals as getting a free pass for something others *ACHIEVED*. Most bleeding heart liberals don't give a fuck about achievement, mainly because they want everything handed to them. Thus they don't care about somebody else taking something for free.

Given your response, all I can say is WHOOSH!
(The sound of the OP flying right over your head....and you weren't fast enough to catch it.)

No, I think that liberals aren't the ones who get it. People are making a concise decision to support the rule of law, regardless of how it may effect them.

But this is the liberals problem. They want the nanny state to take over because they are too stupid to think for themselves.

You support a candidate base on his position, not the position of his supporters. I'm sure Sanders or Hillary have a few crazies who support them as well. The question should be, is Trump based on his own words and statement make him a racist person?

Pretty much exactly what I was going to say.

I live in the lovely state of "HOLY-SHIT-THERE-ARE-A-TON-OF-MEXICANS-ALL-OF-A-SUDDEN" and they are loud and annoying. Ever seen nail salons where the Asian ladies will speak in a different language to each other the whole time right in front of you? Yeah, Mexicans do that RAMPANTLY and EVERYWHERE.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying "SPEAK ENGRISH OR GET OUT!!" I'm saying they are LOUD as fuck with it, incredibly annoying, and they don't stop talking. Ever. It's the equivalent to "I speak Spanish, and you probably don't - So I'm going to be incredibly loud and annoying because noooooo one can stop me!" 🙄

I'm married to a Latin, and I also know the language, so it's funny when I can call them out 😀

Yeah, people are conversing with each other in their native language not because it's easiest for them, but because they want to rub it in your face.

What? Not everything is about you.

So they can stay if they promise to whisper? 😱

You should be thanking liberals, as they are trying to save you from the stupidity of your own immigration plans. Shockingly enough, in the real world raging and blustering doesn't actually solve problems.

What you want will never happen, and sooner or later shifts in the US will lead to a comprehensive reform package similar to what liberals want. If you want to stamp your feet and rage about it have at it! It won't change much. The world is moving on from you, so you might as well get used to it.

Yes, by reform you mean no borders. Just a continual flow of low income, low info, poor people who will vote d to get more free shit.

What's hilarious is that people like you support this despite it being driven by business interests.

Comprehensive? Like the big amnesty in the 80's and a few more smaller ones after that? But this time, we will call it HOPE or DREAM or FUTURE or HAPPY or <insert more feel good slogans> and promise to enforce the border/empty promises and we mean it, really mean it this time?

I am not very smart but something about do the same thing over again (but label it different this time) and expect different result = stupid and crazy. And reward bad behavior will lead to more bad behavior. Case in point = even more ILLEGALS this time than in the 80's amnesty.

Why even bother to have immigration law? Why even pretend to be a sovereign nation? Hey folks, just sneak in here ILLEGALLY and don't worry about having to wait for years to do immigration the legal way. That's for chumps and losers to follow the law.

Of course I don't think no borders. We have been over this before.

I like plenty of things that are supported by business interests, the idea that someone should oppose something just because business interests support it is for simpletons.

Sure you do. "Reform" is only about no borders. That's what it was under reagan, that's what it is now.

Most of the proposals from the Republicans involve turning the US in to a police state to rival some of the less popular communist and fascist states of the last century. A wall isn't going to cut it, nor is the forcible deportation of millions which has enormous practical and legal problems.

The US needs to dramatically shift policy wrt latin america. End the drug war and work steadily on stabilizing Mexico and Central America economically. Improving local safety and economic conditions = those people not coming to the US. We spend a pile of money trying to nation build in a corner of the world that could't be less interested while ignoring our own backyard. Also we need to bow to the reality that there are millions of people in the US who cannot be, without turning us into what we claim to hate, be removed and instead deal with the issue pragmatically.

We have deported millions of illegals before. It was done quickly and efficiently.

You don't have to turn it into a police state. It's pretty simple. 50,000 fine per day, per instance, of illegal employment. Then they will stand out. Offer them 2 choices, leave freely or get stick in a holding center awaiting a deportation judge. Basic food shelter will be provided but nothing luxurious, no jobs, no money. The majority will leave freely. Those that don't will be forcefully deported.

You don't have to turn it into a police state, you just have to levy draconian punishments and then threaten mass incarceration of millions of people.

Do you even read what you write? Lol.

By the way I would love to see your example of a quick and efficient deportation of millions.

Yay, ad hominem! You're so smart eski.

Wait, the guy who has repeatedly called me a 'cuckmale' (lol, what a weird insult, btw) is complaining about ad hominem attacks.

Maybe you're often too drunk to remember what you wrote, but that's still pretty hilarious. What an idiot.

Yeah, punishments for breaking the law is so draconian.

The have a choice. If the fail to take it that is their problem.

Who is going to judge these millions of cases and by what standard?

Putting the US in the business of building concentration camps holding millions is not consistent with what is so often heralded as our national character. So we're hypocrites or worse.

Then they should leave. They are here illegally. They can either be treated like criminals or leave on their own.

What standard? What the fuck do you mean? Did you come here legally? No? Get the fuck out.

Uhm, no it didn't. It didnt deport millions, (you probably got this figure from Trump's uncritical parroting of wildly inflated figures) and it failed to stem the tide of immigrant workers while being cited for numerous human rights abuses.

It was basically a complete failure in every possible way. Lol. Duped again, huh.

It got rid of over a million workers.

It didn't stem the tide because it didn't increase punishment for employment of illegals.

Human rights abuses? Lol. You care more about some criminals than you do for your own countrymen.
