How old were you when you had your Wisdom Teeth removed?

Im getting mine out in a few weeks. I put off getting mine removed for several years & I finally decided now is the time. I just turned 32. Just curious if anybody had them out around my age & how it went(My dad has his removed no problem when he was in his late 40s-though he had them done in a hospital)

I dont need to have my wisdom tooth taken out... all 4 of them are fully out now, but they have enough room so I dont need any operation...

My girlfriend though, had hers taken out in Dec... but it went very well for her, only swelling for a couple of days and that's it...

We are both 22 by the way...

Hope it goes well for you! 🙂

hmmm sorry man...had mine out when i was 19, wasn't all that bad. just went under and they cut them out...not much pain afterwards. although i still do have a little indent where one of the bottoms ones was already in...but no problems. good luck!

<< Still have mine..

WHats the point in removing them?
>>

They can cause problems.

They can cause pain, they can also push your other teeth forward and screw up your entire jaw.

Many people can go through life without ever having them removed. But some aren't so lucky.

Got it done the day after New Year's one year... 🙂

All 4 at once, I was awake, and the doctor actually shot one of my teeth out of my mouth and it hit the nurse in the chest 🙂 Kinda neat actually. Ached pretty bad that night, and was a bit sore for eating food the next day, but after that I was fine.

If I recall correctly, I was 18 when I got all four of mine out. Mine were still behind the gums when they were removed.

By the way, three years later and occasionally the gums still wear thin (almost feels like the jaw bone is about to pop out) in some of the areas they operated. Kind of annoying. :frown:

Still, I wouldn't recommend that anyone wait longer than they need to. Better to get them out before they become impacted and/or wrap around a nerve.

I was 18. My dad being an Orthodontist had mine taken out the day after Christmas, 2001. They put me to sleep and when i woke up I was short 4 teeth.

<< I havent had mine out yet and don't plan on having it done anytime soon. I am 20 btw. >>
