going to try and get a doctorate in psychology, so i'm guessing I will graduate around 26 or 27 (I just turned 18 last month) but I will be done with undergraduate school when I am 22 I might try 21 but I don't know if it would be worth it to put myself through that.

This is wishful thinking, you'll be one of the lucky ones if you do. To put together a serious thesis, especially in a field like psychology isn't easy to pull off.

I'll be 25 when I get my bachelors, maybe 30 for the PhD... might be too wishful.

Good luck to you, don't doubt yourself...I know its wishful thinking but if you would have known me when I first started highschool you would think that me being in college is a miracle, but i graduated my senior year with an overall 3.6 not bad considering I hardly went to school the first three years, now I am pursuing this and hope to achieve it, I know its going to be hard, but I like a challenge...and the money :D

You mean paying the money or making money with a phd in psych. if you want teh monies go to med school.

Of course I don't like paying the money :p, I like making the money, I'm not going to do this all at once, I have a feeling that I would be in way over my head, but instead I will stretch in out, working and going to school after my BS.

Have you been to med school? That's a dumb idea. Get a business degree. More money, less work.

But you're not Bill Gate.

Well, it's "Gates", but that's OK.............(snicker, snicker)

I finished a community college version of an 'Associates' education that cost me all of about $8K. (Books & all)

I make more than every single one of my peers except one.......and half of them have at least one degree. (One of my buddies has easily a $100K education & makes about $45K)

I will admittedly say that the other half didn't even go to college, but I have a couple buddies who barely finished high school by the skin of their teeth & one is managing a Costco & making well over $50K and the other started his own business right outta' high school & is makin' damn near what my wife & I make combined!!!!!

of course... college doesn't teach you how to make money, or how to get into position to open your own business, or how to generate revenue.... college is for credentials if you want employment in entities that req. credentials like educational institutions, corp. institutions... or where you needed certified skills like acct, lawyer, doctor, engineer...

I finished when I was 21 and I agree with abc. College isn't for everyone. If you got someone else or better to do go for it.[/quote]

I agree with you that college is not for everyone but excuses that Gates didn?t graduate from college and look at him now is just ridiculous. I just think that they?re saying this to make them feel better about themselves. I wonder why someone like Bill Gates, who didn?t graduate from college, would only hire people with not only a college degree but they have to be ranked at the top of their class. It?s obviously that Gates value people with higher education. Shouldn?t Gates know that people without any degrees are just as good as those who have one?

I'll go back one day. Maybe I'll just move down to PR & sell mangos by the roadside.
