just curious, i turned 25 a few months ago, and the only car ive ever had is a 72 postal jeep i bought for 500 dollars 4 years ago lol.

bought means your parents could have bought it for you (for the girls answering the thread 😉 zing! )

Never bought my own NEW car, but just bought a brand new motorcycle two weeks ago and drive a brand new Chevy work van that I didn't pay for.

I'm 25 btw.

23, and was one of the dumbest financial moves I made. I came out *okay* on the deal because I cut some of my losses by selling it to my employers and ended up driving it daily as a company vehicle.

had gotten one new the first year (18yo) I was in the military. since then, i've gotten a new one about every four years. Just paid off the last one and now it's time for another one.

I'm 27 and I have never owned a new car. Closest to new that I've bought was a '96 Chevy Lumina that I bought 3 years ago for $4,000.

21 - 2004 MINI Cooper. I sold it 9 months later for a brand bew 2005 MINI Cooper S, which is now for sale, 11 months later. 😛

Uhm - WTF?!

I don't think he's really losing much on the deal. The Mini's hold their value he probably just paid for his use (and sales tax) and then sold the thing for what he owed on it (or for more than he owed).

They still are hot little items in demand.

Yep, the blue book on mine is currently $2,000 more than I paid for it (MSRP) and trade in is $1,000 less than sticker.

It's either buy used or wait 4+ months for a new one.
