I was 25. I got a good deal after the oil bust in Oklahoma. It sold for $84,000 3 years earlier. I bought it for $42, 000. Ex has it now. :-(

I will very likely buy mine in a few months right around my 27th birthday. I'd love to have had a house earlier but as I'm just finishing up my doctorate; however, a house is too expensive and too time consuming to maintain.

Around there, maybe 21 1/2 or 22 1/2 can't recall exactly. Was about 8yrs ago. Was a 3/2 w/ 1car Garage Villa. Cost about 78K back then. Sold for a bit of a profit 3yrs ago, helped pay for upgrade to new home.

EDIT: I should add that while I thought I was making a mature and rational decision, there is a part of me that wishes I hadn't made such a huge commitment so early. 21-year-olds don't really need to be that mature and rational, and I think I missed out on some things by nailing myself to the ground like that.
