How old to be a computer tech?

I'm 15 years old and am interesting in taking the A+ Certification Prep course next year at school (prepares you to take the A+ Certification test). But I'm wondering, if I am A+ certified, will I be able to get a job anywhere at 16 years old? I have plenty of experience with computers, I build my own, mess with stuff. I also know a LOT about apple computers, which could be a plus (although i would have to become apple authorized).

Anyway, would anyplace such as CompUSA or Microcenter hire a 16 year old tech? (even at minimum wage).

you're probably qualified to do the job of many adults out there in techie jobs...

trouble is a lot of them are looking for jobs too, and they have lots of experience.

Your advantage over them is: you will work for practically nothing 😛

Yeah, one of the computer super stores will hire you at 16. Knowledge is power. Get all you can and put it to good use. If you go to college, don't squander your time, study hard, get good grades and learn all you can.

thast cool then. I don't think i want to do that for my life, but it woudl be a nice weekend/summer job to get me through college. Plus the class looks fun, we get to build computers. Anybody know how to become an apple authorized repair guy? I'm sure I could do it easily, i've been working with macs longer then PCs, plus Mac techs are hard for stores to come by (at least the stores around here have really lousy know-nothing mac guys).
