How old is your keyboard?

I've been at my current company for almost 7 years now and I've had the same keyboard the entire time. Many of the keys are quite shiny and smooth but you can still read all the letters and numbers. It's a MS keyboard. There is an almost mirror like finish on many of the keys and the right half of the space bar.

My work computer is a laptop but nearly all of my work here is done on it while docked to a docking station so I have a full size keyboard, mouse and dual monitors.

Oh man, at least 10 years. I should consider changing it. It's one of those MS ergo keyboards. It's hard to find wired mice/keyboards now days so I don't imagine selection would be that great. I'll keep it till it dies or gets too nasty. 😛

I have to give MS credit though their hardware is usually pretty decent. I don't know about now, but it was at the time I got this keyboard. Their mice were pretty good too.

Most of my keyboards are Model Ms. I did get a new azio a few months ago though. I guess the age range is ~30 years to a few months old.

edit:
Here they are together at work...

Just a couple days old. I was using a crappy HP oem keyboard and then Newegg had a sale on one of their Rosewill mechanical boards. It's pretty nice. It's labeled as a gaming keyboard but it uses Cherry MX brown switches which also makes it nice for just general use.

old enough to be disgusting when I turn it over and tap on it.

About every two months I do that, and clean off all the keys and surfaces. Then I run a toothpick between all the rows of keys. The last is the most disgusting, as I pull out wads of hair and crumbs. Surprising, though, how much better the keys feel after doing that. I used to just replace the keyboard every two years or so, but I've learned it's not really necessary if cleaned well.
