By the way, one should post their location (I'm in Kentucky). $30 an hour in California isn't much. $30 per hour in Kentucky is very good pay. It's all relevant.

I'm a tech support specialist and I only make 10/hr. Feel lucky.

38, self employed. I bill at $60 per hour or $300 to $500 per job (sometimes $900 for complex jobs) which works out to $28-$30 per hour after expenses and travel time. I just love the Parade magazine in the Sunday paper with their ?what do people make? article. So much depends on location. A Taxidermist in Tennessee making $20,000 a year may be living a king?s life, while a Lawyer in LA working 60 hours a week for $75,000 a year can't afford to buy a house!

This is true. I have a friend who left Seattle, was making over $50k, easy hours, single, 2 bedroom house, & a fat beamer. He moved to VA for $97K, just bought a 1 bedroom condo for $300k, work crazy hours, travels, and getting raped both ways (paying state taxes, federal taxes, & the high cost of living).

If you live far enough from a metropolitan area, anything is cheap.

I live 40 miles from Seattle and my rent is around $600 for 2 bedroom, 2 bath, large balcony, double door security, pool, wash & dryer, over 1250 sqf of space but no fireplace

In seattle, a studio or 1 bedroom over $700.

You should also add how many hours per week....

I work at least 40hrs a week at my job, thus I may make less hourly pay than some, but work enough hours to make it a decent salary. (mainly because I am salaried)

it depends on where u live and your bills???

i make $6.50/hour and work on average 3 days a week and manage to afford my $300 apartment rent and a $50 phone bill plus gas and food.. (very little food i might add)

luckally parents pay car insurance while im in college otherwize id be fuxored!!!
